One the most recent examples are the shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida that left 17 people dead. David Hogg was one of the survivors. He has been vocal since the incidence raising issues on the topic of gun control. There is no code of conduct that requires people to use their genuine photos and names, and no one who monitors the messages sent or the images used by people. This implies that the platform is open to misuse since there are no rules governing its use. Culprits are punished after they have caused serious problems to innocent victims. There is freedom of speech means people post anything they want. This is used to lure unsuspecting victims to rapists such as Pullen. In fact, there is no way of verifying the information posted on social media means people can easily fall into lies. It has been used as a marketing platform where people have been able to market their products and increase their sales. Furthermore, Facebook is used to carry out humanitarian programs where they are highly publicized creating awareness and reaching millions of people. They are able to raise funds and help those in need. However, Facebook has also raised privacy issue due to the way people are able to post very private information about themselves which is accessed by thousands of people. Which make others able to hack accounts and post inappropriate images of people with the intention of tarnishing their names. This is a common problem associated with social media. Moreover, people are harassed and bullied on a regular basis.
