In The Crucible, I believe that Abigail could have ended the mass hysteria in Salem by being honest and not having an affair at an age that you're still young, Abigail was wrong for just accusing anyone in her way to get them hanged which she could’ve stopped the hysteria just by owning up to her problems. Abigail never meant to get john proctor to hanged after all abigail just wanted proctor all to her self. Abigail was upset because she viewed Elizabeth as an inconvenience just because she is preventing Abigail from being with Proctor. “ Did you come to see me John I almost forgot how strong you are” To this moment Abigail was with Procter but he denied that he didn't want anything to do with her. It has gotten to the point where Abigail gets jealous of Elizabeth and wanted her to hang out so she can be with Procter. Mary Warren had given Elizabeth Proctor a poppet that looked like a voodoo doll with a needle that Abigail had put in it. While she didn't want to own up to her problems so people accused Mary. Abigail had made other people frustrated but she could've just stopped what she was doing, Abigail had made Proctor get hanged which that's where she felt bad because although she wanted him she caused his death. …show more content…

With the false accusations it could help the community restore some of the damage that was done to everyone. If they all came forward and admitted that they had been lying, then the court would have no choice but to drop the charges against the accused. She could’ve just confessed about her lies and took full responsibility for her actions but instead she had run away after having an affair with Proctor that he admitted
