Near the beginning of Jeannette Wall’s memoir The Glass Castle, she recalls how she was taught to swim. Her family already struggled with money, moving around constantly, and she had grown to be independent. As she learns to swim, her father employs a concerning strategy: letting her sink and nearly drown before saving her for just a moment, then throwing her back into the water. Jeannette eventually catches on, realizing it’s more harmful to let him save her: “And so, rather than reaching for Dad’s hands, I tried to get away from them…and finally, I was able to propel myself beyond his grasp.”
Even though Atticus Finch doesn 't discipline his kids, so they sometimes disrespect people, he makes his kids accept people no matter what, Atticus cares about his kids, but Atticus does not change who they are as a person. because, and he teaches his kids right from wrong. He was a great father because he guided on the morally correct behaviour which was difficult in their time. Atticus Finch makes his kids Scout and Jem accept people no matter what they do.

To kill a mockingbird is a well-known novel written by the talented author Harper Lee. The novel is about a lawyer, Atticus Finch, and how he defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. The novel explores the issues of family, prejudice, courage and justice. The issues of family and prejudice and how they have been represented will be discussed in this essay. Maycomb’s close-knit community consists of many families with different values and structure.
Atticus Finch: Good or Bad Father “Dad, you have to buy me this, my friend has this at school and it is SO cool. It only costs ten dollars, please.” A good father may be the one that always buys anything, and everything for their child/children but in reality, a father with good punishement, and teaching to do the right thing may be considered a good father.
