In Romeo and Juliet this statement happens way too much. When a character in the story tries to do something good. Something bad always follows behind. Even when the character’s intentions are good. Friar decides to marry Romeo and Juliet. Romeo came to Friar early in the morning to ask him if he would marry them. Friar states “ I’ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households’ rancor to pure love” (Shakespeare 1076). Friar only marries Romeo and Juliet because he thinks it will stop the families feuding. The thing he did not know is that it only made things worse.
