Throughout time greed, guilt, and salvation has help to revise the mind of a person to determine if something is right or wrong. Macbeth is the tragedy written by William Shakespeare that embodies how greed, guilt, and salvation can change a person from having morals to killing someone because of a prophecy. Shakespeare writes about the rise and fall of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, and the salvation of Macduff. The witches’ prophecy sets the plot of Macbeth. Macbeths’ greed leaves him dead in the end. Guilt takes the life of Lady Macbeth. Salvation saves the life of Macduff. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth is a loyal soldier that does what he is told. When the witches’ prophecy informs Macbeth that “All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter” (Act1: iii: 50). Macbeth is skeptical about what the witches said, but when King Duncan said that Macbeth will be known as Thane of Cawdor Macbeth cannot believe that the witches are true. This makes Macbeth unaware and unsure of what to do. Lady Macbeth persuades him into kill Duncan so that he would be king. When she finds out that the witches predicted that Macbeth will be king she made sure that will happen. She help plan the murder of King Duncan she said “Hark! I laid their daggers ready He could not miss ‘em Had he not resembled my father as he slept, I had done ‘t” (Act 11:ii: 14-16). She would have actually killed King Duncan if he did not look like her father, but she made Macbeth do it for her. As time when on she did not have as much control like before Macbeth was crowned king. Towards the end she starts to realize that she made a monster, and that no one could stop Macbeth. At night, she would sleep walk and she would act like she was washing her hands. She later committed suicide because she could not handle caring the secret of the murder of King
