Have you ever felt indecisive or thought “should I do it or should I not”? In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare reflects on the human nature of internal conflict. He writes of feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets. They each have one child, Romeo and Juliet. Although they are from feuding families, Romeo and Juliet fall in love and through an unfortunate series of events, these ill-fated lovers take their lives, resulting in the end of the feud.
I have found evidence that states that the cause of Romeo and Juliet’s death was in fact adult interference and youth/Inexperience. The reason that adult interference and inexperience are a huge part in Romeo and Juliet's life is because there is a lot of evidence that shows the adults and their youth were the reason that Romeo and Juliet took their lives. Adult interference is shown a lot throughout Romeo and Juliet’s romance. We can see adult interference when the nurse is talking to Juliet and says, “I think you are happy in this second match" (Act 3.5.23).
This leads to both Mercutio and Tybalt’s deaths, as well as Romeo’s banishment. Soon after the fights, there is temporary miscommunication between the Nurse and Juliet. “Alack the day! He’s gone, he’s killed, he’s dead!” (III.ii.38).
Natalie Springer Frost English Honors 9-5 7 March 2023 A Harrowing Hostility The misfortune of Shakespeare's tragic play, "Romeo and Juliet," dawned from an old opposition, a senseless conflict, an ancient grudge whose origin has been lost to time. Its existence has disrupted the harmony of its home, and all are tired of it except the rival families themselves; at times, the families only seem to think of themselves. There is one fatal flaw that wounds the characters of this tale, whether physically or emotionally—and it is the feud itself.
Juliet’s Rebellion In the play Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare the character Juliet rebels against her family, by falling in love with Romeo, her family’s enemy's son. This rebellion causes the arising of many conflicts Juliet has to face and overcome. Rebellion is the definition of resisting authority and control. In the play Juliet starts to have an awakening in her mind that helps her realize she wants to start making her own decision, not based on her parents, not based on the people, but her own.
Why do teens rebel? Well, some teens may rebel because of someone or something they love. For example, “Romeo and Juliet”. In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo marries Juliet behind their parents back. Another example of a movie where teens rebel is Moana.
Hate is a curse that destroys all things. In Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are on opposite sides of a grudge between two families, and eventually, they kill themselves. Romeo and Juliet fall in love during the story, but ultimately hate is the main factor that drives Romeo to kill himself. One reason hatred influenced Romeo to kill himself is Romeo's detestation for his name. In the passage, Romeo says, "My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself."
The playwright “Romeo and Juliet” contains gang affiliations such as gang fights, harsh disputes and problems between the two houses, and to achieve what they desire no matter the cost. “Romeo and Juliet” contains gang fights because there are two houses; the capulets and montagues who always fight when they meet in a public place. Harsh disputes are involved in “Romeo and Juliet” because the families of both sides curse each other every chance they get and show no signs of trying to work together as one. The Capulets and the Montagues will do anything to get what they want, no matter the cost. These items is why “Romeo and Juliet” are connected to gangs and how you can see the similarities.
Eliza Carrabine 3/13/23 Period 6 Romeo and Juliet In times of extreme intensity and high stakes, it is easy to get lost in emotion. In the play Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, the main characters frequently find themselves turning to each other for support during stressful times, even if it only leads to worse consequences. The downfall of Romeo and Juliet is caused by the hate and actions of violence that come from them loving each other. At the beginning of the play, the fight between the Capulets and Montague is a significant part to see the hatred within the feud. Throughout the fight scene, many servants from both sides are hurt, and the fear of the bystanders causes the Prince to be called. Before when the Prince leaves he declares, “If ever you disturb our streets again, / Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace” (1.1.98-99). The Prince is tired of the dangerous fights and bitterness between the families.

Imagine two young lovers who could never truly be together, take their lives over a misunderstanding and ancient grudges of their families. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare has a recurring theme of immaturity of young lovers that only have irrational actions, will hurt not only themselves, but everyone around them just so that they can be with their one and only. To connect the modern world to this play, we have accumulated five songs that would support this theme while also showing the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. “The Wisp Sings” by Winter Aid is one of many songs that reflect the theme of Romeo and Juliet. It talks about how someone is trying to take their lover away, while also trying to express their feelings all at the same time.
According to Derek Landy, a famous irish author and screenwriter, “ Violence is never the answer, until it’s the only answer.” This message stays true in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. In this dreamful play, there are two passionate lovers. On one hand there is Romeo, belonging to the Montague family, and on the other hand there is Juliet, belonging to the Capulet family. Unfortunately, for Romeo and Juliet, their families have been fighting in a never ending feud against each other.
