1. In Romeo and Juliet, there are many things that are happening in the play, but one of the main things is miscommunication. For example, in the story Romeo and Juliet, they fall in love and end up marrying each other but their families are enemies. They don't want their parents to know they are married because their parents wouldn’t approve; because their families have been enemies forever. Eventually, Romeo kills Tybalt which causes him to be banished from his town where Juliet lives. Also Juliet is being forced to marry someone named Paris. She tells Friar Laurence that she wants to be with Romeo. For example, on page 219 Friar Luarence listens to Juliet say, “O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris.” This shows Friar Laurence how …show more content…
Later in act 4, Juliet ends up drinking the potion and her family finds her in the morning and believes she is dead. Her family ends up mourning her death and brings her to her grave where they can bury her. This creates suspense in the story because the audience is not sure that Romeo will get the letter that Friar Laurence sent in time; and Romeo will believe that Juliet is dead. But as predicted, Friar Luarence’s letter does not get to Romeo. Friar John was not able to deliver the letter to Romeo because he was shut in quarantine because of the plague. The creates more suspense and frustration for the audience because Romeo doesn't know about the plan. But Romeo’s eager to find out how Juliet is doing, and is told that Juliet is dead. Romeo believes that Juliet is dead because he has not received the letter yet and rushes to Juliet's grave.Before Romeo arrives at Juliet's grave, he stops at Apothecary where he says, “Let me have a dram of poison, such soon-speeding gear As will it disperse itself through all the veins.” This adds more suspense because we the reader know that Juliet is not actually dead and now we know that Romeo is most likely planning to kill himself with this poison. All we can really do is hope that Romeo finds out that Juliet is not actually dead before he does
