Misconceptions and Learning Difficulties about Seasons and Climate In today’s modern world, climate and seasons are a very common and fundamental subject that many individuals and students are interested in , but of course there are some misconceptions and learning difficulties for students. Here are some misconceptions and learning difficulties about the subject of 8th grade students climate and seasons: Misconception 1: Weather and Climate are same things. In the progress of elementary education life , students might not hear of something called climate and all what they see and hear in daily life is weather, but there is a catch. These students frequently hold incorrect perceptions about Earth system relationships as well as how human activities impact those systems. Schoon (1992) managed a question to 123 students in the United States and found that the most common misconception about the seasons was that Earth is closer to the Sun in summer, which was given by 77.6% responds. The percentage increased at elderly ages suggesting this idea is learned.
