During World War 2 both America and Germany used propaganda for a number of reasons. Propaganda was used to either encourage citizens to help in conservation efforts, to help boost morale, to fill jobs, or anything else that could assist the country. Propaganda was important to the war because it helped to conserve supplies, support soldiers, and sometimes make fun of our enemies. In America at the time of war we mainly used propaganda to aid in conservation efforts.
In Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451, the government uses propaganda and book burnings to manipulate society into hating books and relying heavily on technology for control. The protagonist, Guy Montag, works as a fireman whose duty is to burn illegal books. The central themes of the book revolve around government censorship through book burning and the society's addiction to technology. The firemen in this society are assigned the task of burning reported illegal books. While the government claims that these books are burned to eliminate British influence, the true motive is to control people's opinions by suppressing diverse perspectives found in books, as explained by Captain Beatty.
The society in which Bradbury shows us is dystopian for multiple reasons, with the extreme governmental control on the people, excessive amounts of propaganda, and finally the main topic of the story, the banning of books. We see the government controlling every facet of the people’s lives with jobs and even how one feels being completely. Propaganda is practically and literally dripping down every wall of every home through many different means. Finally, of course the ban on books present in the society which adds to and strengthens all the preceding points. Montag experiences firsthand the governmental control over the people, when his wife is “cleaned” after attempting suicide and she starts becoming an, “Ideal” citizen.
Propaganda Society is constructed in a way that everyone is forced to follow the orders of the government. There are people who decide to listen to the government and people who don´t. The people who don't listen to the government will not fall into the traps that can withhold ones full life. Governments will use propaganda to force people into their orders. In Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 Bradbury illustrates the robotic minds of the world from propaganda and the awakened minds by using imagery and diction.
Propaganda was very popular during WWII. The United States, Germany, and Japan all used propaganda to have people hate other races because the poster would be negative against that race. They would often have unrealistic features to make them seem ugly and not nice people. During WWII, the propaganda shows colors, symbols and different types of text to get people to read the poster and to hate the different race. Color can help tell everything apart and make them stand out.

One variable that echoed throughout America was propaganda. Propaganda was a major influence in the rally for overall support in America during World War II. The propaganda’s intentions in World War II can be broken down into three major categories: war efforts, Anti-German and Anti-Japanese backing, and homefront endeavors.
During World War 2 there were many upsets, surprises and events which impacted the world for ever. One of these events was the political party of the Nazis rising into power by using the radio and speakers to effectively get their point across to the German citizens. The stand out topics in the course was World War I and World War II. These were stand out topics for me because these are my favorite periods of history. I found the propaganda presented throughout the course to be interesting. I found it interesting because there was always a clear bias for a specific person or idea in each image or video. Plus, the people were easily tricked by the images.
During WWII Germany was recruiting troops to the SS, a special force for nazi Germany. Nazi Germany wanted more troops and more power in order to take over more countries in Europe. The party was lead by no one other than Adolf Hitler, they had pride for their country and nationality. He had many speeches regarding the devastating state of Germany economy wise after the Great Depression in the US saying if they fight communism and the jews all their problems will be solved (History.com). Hitler tried recruiting troops to the Waffen-SS party and he had done that among speeches and nazi propaganda, portraying the ‘right side of the truth.
There is a phrase carved into a concentration camp cell by a Jewish prisoner that reads “If there is a God, he will have to beg for my forgiveness.” If one were to put this quote in context with the synthesis in concentration camps, they may begin to render the true incongruity it has. The belief that had gotten nearly every prisoner into these camps had been abandoned. Every ounce of hope in this prisoner had been drained by their circumstances. Concentration camps were prisons during World War II that housed Jewish people under the worst of conditions known to mankind.
Over eleven million people, six million being Jews, were murdered in the Holocaust. Today a little more than eleven million people live in Ohio (worldatlas.com). Imagine almost everyone in Ohio being murdered. Could the Holocaust been prevented if bystanders stood up to the Nazis? Unfortunately, this will never be answered because not enough people stood up for what the world knows as moral values.
Also in 1934, anti-Jewish propaganda increased. Hitler used the media for propaganda to change other people’s thoughts on Jews. The Nazis realized that if they did not change other people’s thoughts on Jews they would not be able to get away with their persecutions on the Jews later because the non Jewish public would rebel against their actions. They used the media in a variety of ways, through the cinema, the Nazis made Anti-Semitic films showing how evil Jews were; they usually took the role as the evil characters in the films. Children’s story books were rewritten to portray Jews as cruel.
The Nazi caused a negative impact using propaganda they’ve created, targeting children, because of the propaganda this allowed children and teens collaborate with the Nazi’s youth group. Determined Nazi state their beliefs on propaganda to educate children that Jews are evil so children will join the party. Utilizing this to their advantage by comparing Aryans and Jews that “overall (Jews are) to be seen as..evil”(Comparison of Aryans and Jews). The Nazi strive to provoke citizens to grow hatred and fear towards Jews, which causes the citizens perspective to change in a negative manner. Resulting that citizen will begin collaborating with the Nazi group, targeting the younger generation causing hatred to accelerate, understanding a child’s
People’s working memory slowly declines over time and can greatly be seen when the memory involves speed processing, episodic, long-term memory. But by exercising out brains we can keep our memory, at least some parts from declining as rapidly or till later in life.
