Prejudice
The word prejudice almost sounds like pre-judge and it is judgment made before meeting, learning about, or interacting with someone or something. Prejudice can come in many different forms from racism to just not liking someone who has a certain hair cut. Say you are walking around and you see a black man with a big hoodie, high tops, and chains then you think that he could be part of a gang or something. Many people make assumptions about things like this and yes they might be right some of the time but most times they just have different views on subjects or other personal opinions, so we should account for that and know for sure before we judge. I think that prejudice exists because we are trained to pick up information that could help us survive. If someone has certain things or acts a certain way then sometimes we assume that they are dangerous. We have evolved to pick up clues based on previous notions or experiences and that aided our survival for hundreds of years. If you were raised to think that one race or religious group was better than the next. You might reconsider on your own but I think that we need people who reach out to others with different backgrounds and try and change their minds. If your parents and grandparents tell you a certain way you are supposed to do that but when you grow up I think that it is very important to just think about what you might believe about certain issues and if you actually think that they are right or you just did it because there were people who told you so. Many white families in the 1800’s believed that blacks were more like animals. The slavers were treated as such. If a white child and a black child lived in the same neighborhood and they were playing together, and the mother of the white child came out and saw them then the child would get
