Define Racism Today Throughout history, racism has remained a prevalent issue in the United States. Although the civil rights movement in the mid-fifties and sixties minimized a substantial amount of discrimination, segregation continued to linger as time progressed. African Americans have endured this issue first hand and persistently face this problem on a daily basis. Limiting a demographic based on the color of their skin is a immoral and inhumane thing to do. In today’s society, racism has stemmed off into multiple branches including racial profiling, police brutality, and black lives matter committee. Racial Profiling Racial Profiling is a heavily debated topic in today’s generation. African Americans have primarily dealt with this issue by being targeted and harassed.
