Reflective paragraph: The rhetorical appeal I used consisted mostly of logos. Which according to pathosethoslogos.com means the appeal to logic, by convincing an audience by use of logic or reason. I did this by using mostly fact (e.g. The truth is told about how the plane disappeared, what debris was found and what investigations is going on to find out what happened to the plane). I used the message and tweet from the twitter account @strayedaway which isn’t accredited as well as Mister Peter McMahon who cannot be completely trusted since we do not know if he is actually a real person but he had an job that made him sound intelligent and he was asked to be involved in the project thus people would more likely believe him. My intended audience was those who believed in the unknown and aliens, those who believed in conspiracy theories and lastly I hoped my title will grab people’s interest and thus make them click on this article to read it – as I did when I researched fake news. The “hook” I used was claiming that there was aliens who attacked the MH370 plane and caused it to crash, thus since there has been no evidence as to what happened to the plane and there was a whole mystery around what happened to it, people would more likely click on the article and quench their interest by getting closure as to what happened to the plane and if they …show more content…
The younger people using social media should not just trust the first article they read about a situation and they should use their logic when they read articles – in order to not just believe any nonsense they read. They can start following well respected and news accounts that are not known for being biased or posting fake news. The young ones can also only take those trusted news accounts’ articles as factual and share them – disregarding the other ones their friends share to them. They can use fact checking websites to see whether the article shared with them or that they see on their feed is factual and
