In William Shakespeare's, Romeo and Juliet, there are a multitude of unnatural events that occur. The star-cross’d lives of Romeo and Juliet take place during Renaissance time in which many believed that unnatural events caused by humans resulted in a tumult of events that erupted, often malicious, as Shakespeare's tragedy exemplifies. The first instance of an unnatural event occurs when Romeo attends the Capulet’s party, even after his dream of a malicious event occurs (I iv 105). This event is unnatural because the stars warned him of the malous events that would occur if he went to the party, so he defied the stars throwing off the balance of the Earth.
