Who’s to Blame for Romeo and Juliet’s Deaths Throughout life, emotions can change how someone may act or feel. It provides a sense of mystery because, based on a character’s emotions, you won’t know what they might do next. Themes such as love and hate take a toll on the star crossed lovers, Romeo a Montague, and Juliet a Capulet. It splits up their families, causing their unbounding relationship to become more difficult. Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other drives them to be together through rough times, even if it means death. The tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet are ultimately caused by the emotions and actions of Tybalt and Friar Lawrence. He doesn’t realize that if their marriage got out, the family feud would sky rocket and worsen the chances of Romeo and Juliet being together. When Romeo is banished, he saves Juliet from marrying Paris by giving her a deep sleep vial to fake her death. He also sends someone to deliver a message to Romeo for when he should go back to Verona to save Juliet. Although this seems all and well, he doesn’t ensure that his actions will go 100% the way he wanted them to, and unfortunately they don’t. His message to Romeo wasn’t delivered and this mistake leads to both Romeo and Juliet killing themselves. Friar Lawrence’s unsure actions risked the lives of Romeo and Juliet with a plan that didn’t go according, ruining their fate as star crossed lovers and killing them. Furthermore, some people hold different beliefs as to who's to blame for the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
