All around the world people have many different beliefs. Some of those beliefs are having faith in one god or many gods. People also have different perspectives and opinions on other religions. The three main outlooks on religion mind sets are an exclusivist, inclusivist, or a pluralist. One could also be one or more of those mind sets. In this essay those three mind sets will be discussed along with my ability to engage with other religions and the knowledge of Hinduism. The three mind sets, exclusivist, inclusivist, pluralist are all unique in their own way. Exclusivists believe there religion is the only true religion, they usually aren’t open to other practices. An exclusivist believe that other people’s opinions that are not the same as there’s are not true. They also might think other people’s religions are wrong because they don’t believe in the same thing or perform the same acts. An inclusivist believes that their religion is true but other religions also have truth to them. The reason behind this is that I can take everyone’s interpretations and feelings into consideration and evaluate both sides. This gives me a better understanding on not only my beliefs but on other religions beliefs as well. I feel more in tune with not only my religion but with other religions when I combine my perspective with there’s. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so weather you are an exclusivist, inclusivist, or a pluralist you’re outlook or perception is entirely up to you.
