Last August 14, 2014, there was a person in the pseudonym of Malaya dela Cruz spoke up her criticism of the teachings and practices of her religion, Iglesia Ni Cristo. In one of her statement, Cruz (2014) said that they are the ones who are saved and they are taught to convince other people to “convert” and “follow” in order to receive “salvation.” Moreover, since they are the “chosen ones,” they believe that belong not on earth, but to the kingdom above (Cruz, 2014). From this, the people of the church claim that salvation is only exclusive for them because they believe they do so. Exclusivity is defined as an idea of limitation or restriction. It is basically limiting a particular matter for a particular group concerned and they are the only one have knowledge about that matter. In general, it is the quality of being exclusive. The idea of exclusivity is a common thing and in fact, it is one of our way of thinking. For example, ideologies created by different individuals are once exclusive for the people under that interest, but soon as we are continuously exchange ideas to different people, the once exclusive ideology is now open for all and anyone can adapt in that idea.
