The United States is made up of three branches of government. They are Legislative Executive, and Judicial Branch. The legislative branch makes the law, the Executive Branch enforces the law, and Judicial Branch interprets the law. In my paper, we will discuss how the three branch of government view on same sex marriage. Same sex marriage has been an issue since I was born in 1997. Grown up I have seen same sex relationship but I did not think that it was such a big deal until I started getting older and seen that they have came up with all different type of law about same sex marriage. The executive branch is made up of President, Vice President, and cabinet members. The president has the power to carrier out and enforces the law dealing with same sex marriage. The President is for same sex marriage. “In March 2010, the affordable Care Act was signed in to law by President Obama and ensures that Americans have secure, stable and affordable insurance. Insurance companies are no longer able to discriminate against anyone due to a pre-existing condition, and because of the law, insurers can no longer turn someone away just because he or she is lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender” (Web). The Judicial branch is made up of the Federal Court and the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is the highest appealing court, for federal cases and states cases that in the United States. The Supreme Court is for same sex marriage. “The supreme court ruled 5-4 that states cannot ban same sex marriage, handling gay rights advocates their biggest victory yet. The court ruled legally married gay couples are entitled to the same federal benefits as male-female married couples” (by Mary Kay Mallonee, CNN).
