Exercise Science Career Paper

Over the last two months I have observed three different careers related to Exercise Science. I had the opportunity to observe a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and an Athletic Trainer. Going on these observations has really opened my eyes to what I want to do in the future after college and the requirements that I need to get there. With my Exercise Science degree I am aiming to be a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. An Occupational Therapist is a profession that helps people across their lifespan to do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities. I always knew that I wanted a career where I can help kids but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to be until my sophomore year in college. Once I get that out the way I will officially be admitted into the Exercise Science Program where I then can continue to take the classes that I need without limitations. The classes I have left to take are Exercise Physiology and Lab, Neurophysiology, Leadership 2, Fitness Assessment, Exercise Testing and Lab, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Advanced Methods and Electives.
