Carol Sheriff is all about the industrial and economic progress, that’s her focus in 1812 and the beginning of the Civil war. A few of the topics during this time, market expansion, rapid environmental change, and economic development. I will be discussing important times, the building of the artificial river, and politics. July 4, 1817, near Rome, New York, the first digging happened. New York began construction on what was to be one of the largest artificial waterways in the world.
Programs he 's most proud of include, instituting all school districts in the county have a school resource officer, the pistol safety course now offered to residents and the creation of the drug task force including the drug tip line. "A lot of our successes were done with all of us and I think Sheriff-elect Allard will follow through on all of the stuff, he has a lot of great ideas himself, he 's a real smart guy," says Sheriff Cole. Sheriff Cole says he 'll miss the friendship and community between fellow law enforcement agencies the most." One of the things I tried to promote is the comrodary between departments with having the State Police and the Sheriff 's Office and the police departments all work toegther in various cases.
The SCSO’s mission comprises to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Shelby County Tennessee. Also the mission remains to preserve the peace; sustain a safe and protected jail and to stop crime and chaos while continually defending personal liberties as proposed by law. This must be done with honor and integrity, while showing ourselves by the highest fiscal and ethical standard to preserve community trust (http://sheriff411.org/NavigationPage/aspx).
I had the privilege to interview Ed Locklear who is employed at the Pembroke Police Department where he serves as the Assistant Chief and Captain of the department. Ed Locklear has 19 years of experience, and says he truly enjoys his job. He has been with the Pembroke agency for 3 years now, and before that he worked at the campus of UNC Pembroke. His job duties are usually to help the Chief with day to day operations, such as training for some of the other men at the agency, ordering equipment that they may need, responding to calls, and patrolling the area every now and then. His typical day as the Captain is patrolling, checking out the area to make sure nothing bad is happening, and business walk throughs to make sure everything is running smoothly and no one is causing any trouble.
On the other hand, when local police departments use the due process model they emphasize on the treatment of the offender rather than punishing the offender. Their primary focus is doing the right thing granting offenders a fair chance. Offenders are offered treatment programs through community based alternatives rather than incarceration. Community based alternatives would grant offenders the opportunities to several different programs such as pretrial release and diversion, probation, restitution, community service, work release programs, and halfway houses. The interest of the due process model with local police departments are to develop long term solutions for offenders rather than immediately punishing an individual whether guilty or
My fieldwork project focuses on criminal justice system specificity on the Kenosha Sheriff’s department. I approach this project with an ethnographic approach which is the scientific description of the customs of individual peoples and cultures and how this will impact the community. Personal values and cultural difference impact the interaction with other and their biases. The fieldwork focuses on the cultural difference, discretion, and discrimination of police and their interaction with the police. Here is some history on the Sheriff’s department is the third largest law enforcement agency in the state of Wisconsin and operates the third largest jail facility in the state and the department meaning of “Pride Dedication Professionalism”

1. The role of the criminal prosecutor is to prove that that defendant is truly guilty. It is there job to look at all the evidence that is available and use that evidence to show why it is true that that person committed the crime so that they are prosecuted the way that they need to be. The job of the criminal defense attorney is to look at all the evidence that the prosecutor is bringing forth and to show why that evidence is not reliable or does not have any proof that it is linked to the person being accused of the crimes. It is their job to try to keep the accused person from being sentenced.
There are related goals to the key elements mentioned above to which the department works in order to make sure that they provide a safe environment to the citizens of the country. The operations of the department help in achieving the mission of the department by conducting joint operations, coordinating activities, employing efficient use of department resources and by collecting the right information from the federal, state, local and private sector agencies. As a Probation and Parole Officer, my duties is to enforce the law but primary is to help individuals with social resources so they can become productive member of society. Probation and Parole Officer should communicate with other law enforcement officer to gain information or gain more detail about the person that the Probation Officer is supervising. Policing has been in America since the newly discovered continent was still inhabited by the English. At this time, policing was used as a method of damage control. Colonists would be punished publicly: the ducking stool, stocks, branding iron, and the gallows. Not only did these embarrassing and harsh punishments punish the offenders but also taught the remaining English colonists how to behave properly – if one performs acts similar to the acts of those who are being punished, similar punishments will follow. At this time, policing only worked due to a community census and the willingness of the citizens to help.
Among the illegal immigrants currently living in the United States, continuously crossing the borders and remaining in the United Stated with expired visas each year. Unlawful immigration once an issue of border states such as Arizona or Texas is now impacting all states around the country with problems. “Correction officers supervise convicted offenders when they are in jail, in prison, or in the community on probation or parole” (National Center for Victims of Crime, 2008). When a defendant is found guilty, they are usually sentenced to time in jail, houses of correction, prisons, probation, or parole. When they are sentenced to time in prison, it is the responsibility of corrections and their officers to ensure that the defendant is treated humanely. It is also their job to make sure that the correctional facility that is holding the offender is safe and secure.
Community policing is a philosophy and an organizational strategy that promotes a new partnership between people and their police. It is based on the premise that both the police and the community must work together to identify prioritize and solve contemporary problems such as crime , drugs , fear of crime , social and physical disorder and over all neighborhood decay , with the goals of improving the overall quality of life in the area .It required wide department commitment from every civilian . That challenges all personal to find ways to express this new philosophy in their jobs.
magine a world without laws, Imagine people being able to commit crimes without anything being done, Imagine how all this important information about laws and why we have them would be nothing in the world today. Crimes are committed on a daily basis, but the law does everything to help those people who are in danger of committing those crimes by stopping them before it’s too late. sometimes the crimes are committed before the law can get to them so enforcement takes the job of taking their freedom away for them. Law Enforcement is important because without it everyone would be afraid of life. Everyone needs it for as long as Humanity exists because as humans people create mistakes that can severely harm and hurt others.
