1. Motives for the european explorers fascination with the east, wealth through trade, christian missions, and technological means. Fascination with the east was fantasy literature and nonfiction literature.The objective of the fantasy literature was to entertain readers. Europeans wanted to open more trade ports and trade with other countries in order to gain wealth. Also european with asian countries, and european traders were involved in the spice trade. Europeans also wanted to spread their religion when they traveled to new countries. In order to travel in the seas they made many advances to ships and navigation. The African slave trade is when europeans took africans from their homes and bring them to european countries in order to increase labor and production because the decrease of population. The slave trade caused people in africa rebel against the europeans because they just invaded them and took them over. The objective of the slave trade was to increase production so people can make money. Most slaves worked in sugar factories to produce sugar. The more slaves they had increased the amount of sugar produced. 5.The British colony in North America was much larger than the french population. The population difference showed who had advantages because of more people. The British had control over barbados, Jamaica, and Bermuda. The French held Saint Domingue, martinique, and Guadeloupe. Sugar factories produced tons of sugar annually with Black slave labor. There was high death rate from brutal treatment of slaves. 7. The economy of the 18th century was global because of inflation. Inflation was major problem economically. Prices were increased but was in stable prices. Also increase of fees failed to keep up with profits. Inflation also landed aristocrats who could raise rents because of price revolution associated with rise in prices with great influx of precious metals from new world. Hernan Cortes landed at Gulf of Mexico. Cortes marched to Tenochtitlan at head of small troop. Cortes also made alliances with city-states. When Cortes arrives Montezuma thinks he is a god so he gives him gifts. The god Cortes was supposedly referred as had a beard like him vanished and said to return on the day Cortes did.
