Tools of US foreign policy under the administration of Barack Obama In generally, the tools of foreign can be divided into for four main parts which include the tools of intelligence and information, tools of diplomacy, tools of aid, economic development, and trade, and tools of military influence, power, or force. The tools of intelligence and information can be defined as an evaluated date on the goals, capabilities, and likely actions of foreign actors. Most intelligence is gathered and processed secretly. Furthermore, tools of diplomacy is the process by which states and other international actors pursue peaceful international relations, reconciling competing and conflicting interest through negotiations. Moreover, the tools of tools of aid, economic development, and trade in foreign policy are the economic instruments which used by governments in order to influence the behaviors of state and nonstate actors.
