My mother and other parents and coaches know that it's good for them to have fun playing the game they love, but they also know that it's good for them to compete and try their best to get what they want. The coaches and parents know what the real world is like, there's all kinds of competition in it. These sports can help these kids prepare for their soon to be future.
I completely agree with the concerns that she raises that the current trend of these competitive sport is not healthy for the children. At such a young age they are being taught that winning is the only possibility and defeating the other team is all that matter. Parents and coaches not only support it but teach their children these things as well. This kind of mindset can have a really bad impact on a child’s mind. I am of the same opinion as Jessica that children should not be exposed to this type of environment as this the time when their whole personality is being shaped up.
Intense sports for kids Over 30 million kids participate in sports and over 3.5 million kids get injured while playing theses sports. Maybe it has something to do with how intense the sports are. I am not saying this is definitely why but it is absolutely a possibility.
This could reduce some of the obesity in the United States. By letting these children be involved in sports, they are going to be more physically fit than most people who are not in sports. Allowing these children to be involved in sports at the young age of middle school, can come with negatives. Injuries. It is a fact that many injuries are starting to occur earlier because
According to the New York Time Upfront article the critics say that,” Half of all sports injuries among kids each year are caused by simple overuse … These injuries-- stress fracture, ruptured ligaments, and growth plate injuries. ” (Hyman and Pitcock). But all those things don’t just happen immediately ,they happen when you do something repeatedly for a long time. So if you wanted to help stop that make your kid rest for a little bit maybe like take a rest day one or more times a week so that way your sure your kid will not get hurt that way. For the other physical risks it has, the article from New York Times upfront shows supporters saying,”No sport or physical activity is risk-free.” (Buzz Bissinger and Scott Hallenbeck).Somethings are out of our control like some of the physical risk, but we are trying to help prevent them.
All children should participate in sports to improve their health, communication skills with other children and even to improve relationships with close friends and family. 40% of Australian children do not participate in any sports outside of school and 25% of Australian children are overweight or obese. This puts the child’s health in danger and also affects other aspects of their lives. Sports can improve a child’s self esteem and can let them develop in something they may never have thought of doing before. Over all, children should participate in sports to develop themselves further in life.
Many kids are wanting to pursue a career in sports, but are these kids pushing themselves too hard? The answer is yes, these kids want to work tremendously hard to advance as an athlete. What this means is kids are getting more and more injuries. This is called overuse injuries, which is a very serious condition for these children. Here are some consequences and solutions to overuse injuries.
Youth athletics takes away from the child’s chance of discovering what they truly love; they could really enjoy something other than sports. If a child spends every Saturday at a competition and drives an hour every night for a practice that will last 3 or more hours, they will never get the chance to try new things; all of their time is consumed by the sport they are playing. A child could be great at performing and acting in plays, but they will never know because they were pushed into athletics before they got the chance to explore all of their options. The person who could cure cancer, may never get the chance to explore the opportunities science offers him/her. By forcing children into sports at young ages, parents have cancelled out
For example, more than 775,000 children ages 14 and under are operated on in emergency rooms each year from sports-related injuries. No one want to be in the hospital with a concussion, or something worse for an injury caused by a sport they love. Stanford Children’s Health, a children’s hospital, says, “More than 775,000 children, ages 14 and younger, are treated in hospital emergency rooms for sports-related injuries each year.” (Stanford Children’s Health, 2018). This takes time away from school, family, and friends.
And for the overall of the kids, they should play for their happiness. And many kids or some of the kids are bored sitting there doing nothing so that they can play sports. And kids always sit in their home doing nothing, not getting hyped up so that will make them not want to play. But if they do play they will get their happiness. And for more reasons if they do sports and they are out the parents can get a break from taking care of them so they can rest.
Coaches can be hard, practices can be long, and it can be expensive. However, during someone's lifetime there will be things that they don’t want to do. Having your kid play a sport will teach them many things. Like, how to get along with other kids, not giving up easily, and how not to be a sore loser. There are so many reasons but those are a few.
Kids can translate the hard work they've put into their sport by working harder to be a better student or employee and a better person overall. Kids sports can most definitely help in the area of working together with someone or a

Kids need competition, but not to much. When more pressure is put on from coaches during a game it makes the game two times more competitive. It is really tough for coaches to be able to tell if the pressure it is affecting the kids but they have to be cautious because their words mean a lot. During game action coaches have the most influence on
