For the student, having more frequent exams mean having more chances at succeeding in class. By increasing the frequency of quizzes, students are forced to study more and therefore retain more information. Professors argue that taking this frequent of exams may take away lecture time while adding to their own workload. O’Malley addresses these concerns, suggesting that readers, teaching assistants and Scranton’s can help ease the process. To prevent such a workload, the quizzes can be kept short.
Last weekend I was sitting and watching TV at home although I could spend this time to visit the old castle with my friend. 4. If the student gets good grades on every quiz, he is supposed to study a lot of time. 5.
On Monday the students started a new chapter (Chapter 9: Understanding Drugs and Medicine) and they went over three sections: Drugs, Drugs as Medicine, and Drugs and the Brain. Mr. Cook had directions written on the board for the students to read as they walked in the classroom. The students had to read through each section then they had to complete the section review questions and turn them in when they are done. Being that it is Monday, the students also had to turn in their current event as well. While the students are working on their section review questions Mr. Cook showed me the test for chapter 9 that the students will have to take on Thursday and Friday.
that I normally would've forgotten. In Chapter 9, the strategies helped get rid of my pre-test anxiety, the four-step process to answer
The other sections, as time went by, I started to get bored and wasn’t totally in to the exam. The fact the exam was time; it was an anxiety I remember having. I would feel rush, so I really didn’t fully understand the question to answer to my best ability. There was also so many section, so I was ready to
For example, one of those causes would be that students failing in this century is because as soon as their child get home they play a game instead of studying. Another cause of students is because some of them fall asleep during class because they do not go to sleep at night. Some students have reasons for going to sleep late others might have something going on at home that can be stopped if they tell a teacher or another
and I wasn’t using my time effectively to learn the information. 3. During course I’ve had no personal issues. I believe it’s purely my academics and the short amount of time in which we need to learn the content that have let me down as no other factors have affected my learning.
Some tests are auto-graded which does not allow a student to re-check answers. If you are limited to one test taking opportunity, it is imperative that this information is known before beginning the test. The video was very helpful in discussing this
“Common sense is not something that just is; it is something that is developed and learned and perpetuated over time” (Kumashiro, 2012, p. 17). In the first chapter of Kevin K. Kumashiro’s Bad Teacher: How blaming teachers Distorts the Bigger Picture, he speaks about his experience as a volunteer in Nepal working in the education field with the U.S. Peace Corps. One of Kumashiro’s main takeaways from his experience overseas is presented in the quotation above, he discovers that common sense varies depending on where you are in the world and it is not something that is really nationally accepted. Every place has its own “common sense”. Without any previous knowledge on the ‘norms’ of Nepal’s education, Kumashiro quickly realizes that his assumptions of schooling in America does not apply across the board.
Today, I can recall how and why I was failing and how I learned to improve from it. In sixth and seventh grade I wasn 't the best english student. Many literary works were hard for me to fully comprehend. I would study for long periods of time in order to understand the themes, and techniques used. When
I will read and reread the textbook, the learning guide, and my notes as many times as I need to until I know I fully comprehend everything that I am learning. As of now, I still have not found a comfortable, efficient way of studying for your tests. I have tried making Quizlets, but sometimes never end up using them. I believe I am slowly finding ways of studying that are actually working, I just won’t acknowledge it. Unfortunately, I could not successfully follow through with a plan last quarter, which is why I received a B. I will continue to give my full attention in your class and take notes on everything you say.
Will getting a bad grade really affect me? Unfortunately, my mindset at the beginning of high school thought the answer was no. In all actuality, academic failure is by fair the worse type of failure I have experienced. My freshman year I didn’t apply myself the way I should of, I only did what I had to do to get by. My grades did not meet the high standard I should I have set for myself.
I was wrong. After not doing so well on the first two exams, I could not figure out what was wrong. I reached out to my professor who agreed to meet me and go over my exams. She told me that I must use the text book rather than the lecture notes. Ever since I have used the text book my exam score had increased by thirty percent.
Most of the proponents of the Law of Attraction say that your world is a reflection of your consciousness and I happen to agree with that. Notice how where you live is a reflection of your inner world of thoughts and emotions or when you go to other people’s places, maybe visiting a friend or a relative. Their places are reflection of what goes inside their heads and that is why we are upset when somebody invades our place and rearranges stuff, that constitutes a change for us and we humans do not like to change. Suddenly we feel like it is not our place anymore and the same is true with business or anything we do. THE REASON WHY PEOPLE FAIL people fail in business and are broke is because of what goes on inside of them.
One of my experiences with failure took place when I was in fourth grade. There were many problems accumulated and I was a child who needed people to see if I did my homework or study for the test, because I couldn’t concentrate and was distracted by anything in the room. My brother also had problems that year, he needed more attention because he didn’t get along with his math teacher and my Mom was always after him with the homework; otherwise he would have failed Math at the end of the year. In fourth grade, the teacher that was assigned to us was one of the strict teachers that were in that school
