As I walked into the cafeteria, I caught a whiff of the food being prepared in the cafeteria and thought to myself, “Why can’t we go off-campus to get lunch?” While SLA, the lunch program at Catholic High, provides the school lunches, there could be an alternative solution to this. Unfortunately, students are detained at school during lunch hours and are not able to leave campus during lunch forcing them to be served by SLA or bring their own lunch. If Catholic High School were to introduce an open-campus lunch, students and faculty would benefit greatly. While SLA does provide the lunch at CHS, they do not live up to their standard of “high quality, nutritious, and cost efficient”.
Students Should Have Open Campus Lunch Periods Pinterest states, “Lunch hour is the best hour of the day.” Some students may not enjoy school lunches. Going off campus can open up more choices. Eating a good lunch can help students pay attention in school. I believe that students should have open campus lunches.
Should School Have Open Campus Lunches Seventy percent of all high schools in America have closed campus lunches. At U.S. Grant High School they are one of the schools that do not allow students to leave campus for lunches. When students do leave the campus, they get an one hundred dollar truancy fine the first time. The next time is five hundred dollars.
Lunch is a major part of a student's life, but our lunch policies aren’t fair. According to many students, each day in their lives can be difficult or stressful and the ability to leave campus during lunch is
Determining the healthiness of food being served to students during school lunches is a very important subject. Although eating healthy is important it should not be the only factor contributing to whether or not taking away students favorite school lunches is beneficial. I don't believe that it is a good idea to take away students favorite school lunches and replacing them with all healthy foods is a good idea because of these three reasons. One, the cost of the healthier food, two, the student environment and mood of the school, and three, the fairness to the students whose only meal is the lunch they receive at school.
Although many students agree that school lunches need to be changed, many feel the opposite. When changing a school lunch menu students are going to lose some of their favorite school lunches. There will be less unhealthy foods such as: little brownies, or pizzas, maybe even the cheese stick that many students love. Although it sounds like a bad idea to change school lunches, I feel differently
Here are some reasons why students should be allowed to have open lunch off campus. One reason is because everything the school provides not everyone eats. Next it can place trust in students to manage time. In conclusion it can let everyone get a break from school. Students don't eat
In conclusion schools should not change the lunches because they don't have the power to tell students can or can't eat, they don't have the time and money, and finally because they are not allowed to put a limit on how much a student can eat due to the “No Kid Hungry
School could get out earlier if there wasn 't an extra period saved for lunch. Schools could even get an extra period to put in the day for an extra class or just more time to add onto the classes that are already going on in school. Kids would also be healthier if they did not eat the lunch from school because you never know how much fat, grease, and unhealthy ingredients are in school lunches. Even though school lunches make a lot of students not feel good, it could be a good idea to have lunch so they get energy and are not hungry throughout the day.
Studies show that overweight students tend to have more problems with learning and paying attention (Miura). Many parents also fear that children would have the chance to skip school of get into drugs and alcohol while they are loose for their lunch break. People of the communities have also expressed their fears of increased traffic and increased risk of traffic collisions (?9 Primary Pros and Cons of Open Campus Lunch?). Not only can open lunches cause health problems, but they can lead to other dangers such as a car crash or
It is a well known fact that students who are able to breathe in fresh air during a long school day are less hyper and more focused on their school work. Many people believe that our students should have the option should have the option to eat outside because it gives them the chance to release that excess energy. First of all, students will use all their energy outside during lunch other than disrupt the learning environment. For example, if students could either relax outside or release some energy they wouldn't feel the need to run around in the hallways or jump around during class. This change in the rules will make the classrooms more effective and there would be less distractions.
Being hungry is a form of physical pain. Students often become hungry during school, which make them focus on their hungry other than school work. Students can barely concentrate when they are hungry. But on the other hand, eating in school can be very loud and obnoxious. Students should be allowed to eat in class, because it helps the mind focus and stay on task.
To begin with, the taste alone of school lunches is beyond unsatisfactory. The meals provided by public schools are not appetizing. There exists a tangible disconnect between the enticing, nutritious meals advertised on the school board’s menus and what the students actually receive—pathetic portions and lukewarm meals slapped onto a tray. Children’s complaints about school lunches are often seen as trite. However, while common, they are not any less accurate.
Stress has become a major issue for high school students. Many students have seven classes, participate in sports, have after school activities, homework, and need to get an adequate amount of sleep each night. Some parents and outside influencers don’t see the benefits of having a longer lunch period for high school students. Students complain about how long school is now but they don 't have enough time outside of school to complete everything they are expected to. While it is understandable that some parents wouldn’t want longer lunches because it could result in safety issues and students having to remain in school 30 minutes longer than the traditional time, longer lunches would give students a chance to complete homework, get help from teachers, and eat a nutritious meal.
One, it gives you energy for the day, and it is said to improve how you perform in school. SFgate says, “It is important to refuel children's glucose supplies with a healthy lunch. A healthy lunch can give children the energy they need to stay focused, pay attention in class, and learn the information presented to them in their classes after lunchtime.” Eating healthy when we are young, is very important when we are older as well. If we eat unhealthy habits when we are young, than we might have unhealthy habits when we are older.
