Expression Through Art Deco in the 1920’s

Art deco is a method of expressing one’s personal virtues and character while putting a perpetual impact on others. Art deco started in the 1920s and has put influential confidence in other artists such as Tamera de Lempicka, René Lalique, and Adolph Mouron Cassandre. Not only did these artists provide such an influential conceptual impact, but they have also set standards and helped the public in underlying ways.
Tamera de Lempicka was a dramatic artist that used fearless and liberated tactics. These art pieces were based on the dependence on female sexuality. Lempicka's work allowed her to express her individualistic self-expression. Lempicka's Four Nudes painting “exudes eroticism and powerful femininity” (Tamara De Lempicka Paintings). In what is considered to be one of her most famous paintings, “Lempicka depicts herself sitting at the wheel of a green Bugatti sports car, wearing fashionable brown driving gloves, a close-fitting hat that resembles a helmet, and a scarf that billows in dramatic, sharp folds to her right” (Tamara De Lempicka Paintings). René Jules Lalique is dictated to be one of “the world’s most famous glass art designer whose legacy is still strong today and whose pieces are favored by the collectors” (10 Art Deco Artists Who Changed the World of Decoration Forever). Rene Lalique's designs were breathtaking and inspirational.
