I think this could be because many of the other kids in the program are older than him. I could see that he might act differently in his own classroom. Once the program started, and every child was in their seats, it was time for snacks.

The phrase “self-fulfilling prophecy” is a belief that becomes true because people act as though it is true, such as having expectations that may affect a persons behavior toward them in a manner that he or she unknowingly creates . When a student is labeled it then influences there "self-fulfilling prophecy" , and depending how you label a student it can influence them either negatively or positively . The only way the behaviourist approach can successfully work is if the individual, or group of individuals, know they will be rewarded or punished.
