I could see this being a disadvantage for his age, especially when it comes to playing with other kids in his class. After watching over him for only an hour, I can tell he is a very quiet kid. I think this could be because many of the other kids in the program are older than him. I could see that he might act differently in his own classroom. Once the program started, and every child was in their seats, it was time for snacks.
These students academically underperform
The main reason I chose to write this essay, besides the fact that it's 35% of my overall quarter grade and without it I would be academically ineligible, is the simple fact that I thought it would be ironic and humorous to write an essay/research paper based on how much I really didn't want to write this paper. The phrase “self-fulfilling prophecy” is a belief that becomes true because people act as though it is true, such as having expectations that may affect a persons behavior toward them in a manner that he or she unknowingly creates . When a student is labeled it then influences there "self-fulfilling prophecy" , and depending how you label a student it can influence them either negatively or positively . Self-fulfilling Prophecy can be positive or negative and can affect student behavior. If a student is engaged in a lot of negativity it can cause the student to believe bad about themselves. The only way the behaviourist approach can successfully work is if the individual, or group of individuals, know they will be rewarded or punished. It’s how they place value on what the outcome of their actions will be and how much effort is put forth. While rewarding students who correctly answer the questions and achieve certain scores on tests can be beneficial in the short term, there are several other aspects that should be used to ensure that the students are capturing the information and are able to use it in the long term.
