Factory farms are better because they are cheap and meet the demand for meat. The problem is that they have negative effects on human health. They can cause respiratory problems. They also use a lot of antibiotics. This causes antibiotic resistance in humans. The amount of water pollution factory farms cause are tremendous. Lagoons can leak into the water causing it to be contaminated. Air pollution can happen due to the high amount of ammonia and other chemicals from manure. Animals are caused to live in harsh conditions include tightly packed cages where they never see the outdoors. This causes stress on the animals making them sick and need antibiotics.
