In the play Romeo and Juliet, there were many factors that led to the death of the two. The way i see it, is that not a person solely caused them their death, but fate and bad luck that gave them their misfortune. Not only was it fate but the way both houses acted on each other. Fate was a big part of the play. If Romeo had not seen Juliet at the capulet party none of this would have happened, Romeo would probably still be with Rosaline and Juliet go on to marry Paris. If mercutio had not crossed paths with tybalt both would still be alive and romeo would not be banished. When juliet took the sleeping drug, a letter was supposed to get to romeo but a plague got in the way and stopped the letter from ever reaching him. When benvolio forces romeo to go to the capulet party with mercutio he sees juliet for the first time and falls in “love”. Romeo acting on what he wanted rather than thinking if he should and he was thinking irrationally. If he hadn't tybalt and paris would still be alive and things would might have taken a turn for the better for romeo. With the way romeo thinks, he acts to quickly and threatens suicide many times after something wrong has happened and succeeds when friar Lawrence’s letter never reaches him. Same thing happens to juliet, she acts to quickly and acts as if she will never see romeo again and also threatened suicide. Friar lawrence was the one who secretly married romeo and juliet and came up with the plan that fails and had to tell people of what happened to romeo and juliet. If the friar had not married the two or made sure his letter of the plan actually got to romeo. Fate and bad luck tied down romeo and juliet.
