October 22, 1989, would be a day that Minnesotans would never forget. Eleven year old Jacob Wetterling was kidnapped from a rural Minnesota town. Jacob was never to be seen alive again. His mother, Patty Wetterling, never stopped looking for her son. She spent twenty seven years with her front porch light on waiting for him to come home, she never changed her phone number incase one day he would call, and never left the small town that Jacob knew as home.
Oskar Schindler looks out in the distance. Something is going on in the ghetto; they have found more Jews. The whole place is crazy and frantic. Among all of the black and white chaos emerges a little girl in a bright red coat, sticking out like the elephant in the room. Fighting breaks out all around her as she continues to walk down the street unharmed, an innocent little girl with her whole future and a lifetime of opportunities ahead of her.
Louis Szathmary, also known as “The Legendary Chef”, paved the road of success for multiple culinarians across America and Europe. Behind his name is great respect for the many contributions he awarded to colleges and the many lessons he had to offer. Hard work and determination was a manner he knew far too well and is the reason why I admire Louis Szathmary. The late Louis Szathmary was born on June 2, 1919 in Hungary on a train escaping the strife of the Soviet Union. Louis joined the army and learned how to cook.
Who was Oskar Schindler? What did he do,and how did he do it? History classes often leave untold the story of this incredible man, credited with saving the lives of over 1,000 Jews from almost certain destruction. However, there’s so much more to the story than that. Bravery mixed with pounds of thought and consideration, mixed with Schindler’s family background, made the task ultimately doable.
Set in Manhattan in New York City, an ordinary girl named Grace Hutson, has a secret : she can see monsters. No one else seems to be able to see them but her. Grace knows by suppressing her visions by her prescription pills, she can live out her seemingly picture-perfect life. But what she doesn't know is that these monsters she's seeing, are actually real demons.
If I was Stern, I would not have trusted Schindler for an endless amount of time. Oskar Schindler is associated with the Nazi party, he is very greedy, a womanizer, a gambler and cares only of himself. Anyone that associated with the Nazis could not be easily trusted because they work against Jews and their strikes against anyone are spontaneous and impetuous. For instance, the female Jewish engineer that was helping to build the barracks for the labor camp that was under construction was shot impetuously in the head after she said the building of the barracks were not properly built. Even though Schindler made a list to save 1,200 Jews and transported them to his own enamelware and ammunitions factory, I would still have little to no trust
The Babadook is a psychological horror film about a widow and her son being terrorized by a monster from a children’s book in their dark suburban home. The film uses elements of the disturbed psychological states, of the mother and her son, as they experience emotional disturbances and hallucinations of the monster, to enhance the distressing setting. The mother refuses to believe her son when he blames the strange occurrences happening in their home on the Babadook. People should watch this film because of the powerful cinematic elements that contribute to the story. The film is able to make the audience feel as though they are experiencing the same emotions as Amelia and Samuel.

Jefferson Davis Mrs. Wick Language Arts 22 March 2017 Influential Father Dictionary.com defines mold as “A frame on which something is formed or made”. My father’s character traits have acted like a mold for me. Having a person as a mold can be a positive or negative quality. In my case, it 's a good thing since my father has shown character traits that are wonderful to have as such I have been inspired by them.
Nazi Leadership: Heinrich Himmler Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/historic_figures/himmler_heinrich.shtml (BBC History) Heinrich Himmler was a part of the Nazi leadership from 1920-1945. He was born on 7th October 1900, in Munich- meaning he spent more than half his life as a Nazi. He was seen as “one of the most powerful leaders in Nazi Germany”, which tells us that he may have made many important decisions through his leadership and it tells us that he had a high status, leading him to achieve what he believes in.
Oskar schindler should be considered a hero because during the holocaust jews were facing the violence and misbehaving of nazis while schindler being a nazi was trying to help jews and give them the best life at that time he could and because of him nearly 1,200 jews survived the brutal war. At first, Schindler was accepting jews workers in his factory while others were kicking them out. He gave jews a work permit so, they can stay and don 't have to be moved to camp where other nazis whipped people. Jews were allowed to visit their family members working in other part of factory and were not afraid to killed if they made any mistakes but were appreciated on their good work. He would also entertain them by his humorous personality and lighten up their day with little gifts like a pack of cigarettes which can be traded for food.
Facing a demon is harder than it looks, but you have to let go of fear and fight the battle to win the war of what’s right. I would personally have to say that both of these towns are in their own world, very closed off but not aware of what’s truly right and wrong. Honestly for both towns they need someone who thinks with a pure and righteous mind, to show them right from wrong. In both towns, I believe that if someone could show these people a taste of their own medicine things would change drastically. Now at the same time I am not saying it would be easy to change these community’s ways of life because this really is traditional for each town.
Steve Reich was one of the most influential composers in the minimalist genre. Even in recent decades, his repetitive keyboard figurations have been used in commercials for companies such as I.B.M. (Strickland, 1993, pg.1) Reich much prefers the term musique répétitive instead of minimalism as Reich was quoted saying, “Debussy resented ‘Impressionism’. Schoenberg preferred ‘pantonal’ to ‘atonal’ or ‘twelve-tone’ or ‘Expressionist’.” (Strickland, 1993, pg.23)
In 1936, one of the founding fathers in minimalism, Steve Reich, was born. He began studying music at a young age and played the piano. By the age of 14, he begin exploring the musical works of Bach and Stravinsky while discovering behop, learning how to play the drums, and playing jazz. After graduating high school, Reich decided to attend Cornell University to study philosophy while taking a few composition courses. After graduating, he decided to pursue composition and took courses at the Julliard School of Music and Mills College.
At the conclusion of this vivid literary work by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dr. Grimesby Roylott dies after being bitten by a Swamp Adder, the most venomous snake in India. I believe that Sherlock Holmes was not accountable for the passing of Dr. Roylott and was entirely innocent. When Sherlock initially saw the deadly creature he knew he had to act swiftly and defend himself and Dr. Watson. Furthermore, Dr. Roylott knew the treacherous snake would return eventually; yet, he still sat in the chair which left him vulnerable. The most vital fact is that, how was Sherlock to know that Dr. Roylott was in a susceptible position in the next room?
