Even as Simon spoke about a “body on a Hill”(Golding 152), he was killed because of fear for one's own life obstructed the children’s view. This happens in war when people kill others, to help themselves go through with the killing they would never do at home, they are taught to fear others and kill to protect themselves and others. Leaders might scare them with speeches on the enemies evil nature. For example, they might say they”ll ruin life in the U.S if you don’t kill them. In the book they did something like this when Jack said Ralph will “try to spoil thing we do so watchers at the gate must be careful”(160). When hunting for Ralph Jack said “see he's dangerous”(Golding 194). Even when starting wars leaders will justify the killing of people by saying the enemy is dangerous.This event occurs most of the time to help motivate fearful soldiers to help their country. We are manipulated like puppets because of
