In the book, “Rereading America,” written by Toni Cade Bambara along with Gary Colombo and Robert Cullen, Bambara focuses on the challenges and desire to teach by contras of what you don’t have and what you can achieve. (Bambara, pg. 253-259) It is without doubt that even though a cookie cutter theory is used in most schools; there will be certain social economical neighborhoods in which a teacher or adult will have to vary the process of communication in order to get his or her point across with dedication and teach the love for learning. Ms. Moore had been a wise educated woman who did not avoid the challenging attitudes of children going up in a disadvantaged economical community.
Our America is a book and a movie of the struggle in the Southside of Chicago. Even though, the main plot of the book and the movie was how two characters named Lealan and Lloyd find a way to broadcast their struggles in living in the Southside of Chicago. But, both the book and the movie have the main plot of Eric Morse’s death. Which happened in 1994, two boys Johnny and Tyrone threw a 5 year old boy named Eric out the window because they wanted him to steal candy and he didn’t and so Eric snitched on them. Our America: the book and the movie has similarities and differences such as the plot , character, and other things.
If you were to change something about the education system in the U.S, what would you change? How would you critique the quality of education? Education historian Diane Ravitch answers these questions in her excerpt that was published in 2014, “The Essentials of a Good Education.” In her text Ravitch argues that the education system is flawed and that the vision of a good education is unfair and unequal. Ravitch supports her claim by providing examples of the negative effects of the educational system and using historical context.
The redeeming part of this movie is the few instances where truth was woven into the plot
The movie, The American President, depicts several reliable roles that the president performs, as well as, some of the aspects of our political system. It is a romantic comedy that takes place in the White House, during primary season. The president, Andrew Shepperd, is a widower, with a daughter, who is hoping to be reelected and pass two bills. One related to gun control and the other on fuel restrictions. While watching the movie, I noticed several key roles that the president played; all of which gave him the qualities of a realistic president.
Bob says that teacher certification is not enough to show that that certain teacher is good enough to be effective to all students. Bob states that schools in the past didn’t research the teachers so they could make the students score high on end of course exams. He states that schools have to change the way they higher teachers so they can tell the difference between good and bad teachers. Bob states that doing this would help our students to be more successful.
Mann argues that in order for society to flourish, we need to have higher teacher standards and teachers need to be able to teach all students. He advocates for a committee that advises districts to employ only good teachers and to do so, they need start picking teachers early in the season. Mann writes that the district has the welfare of all towns equally in heart, and that “any one district should be subjected to the necessity of employing an incompetent teacher, is what he deplores” (1841, p. 47). Mann also writes that teachers should be able teach all students. Mann writes that it is “hard that a community has should be taxed to pay for having the minds of their children darkened or perverted” (1841, p. 44).
The target of our satirical essay is teachers who take an exceptionally long time to grade student work. We chose this target because it relates directly to us. It is important to bring awareness to this topic, as it can be a constantly recurring issue for many students in school. Students often get penalized for turning in work late, but teachers receive no punishments or penalties for doing the same. I often deal with this particular situation: I wait weeks for my work to be returned after I only had 1 week to complete the assignment.

In the movie, The Breakfast Club, five high school students spend their Saturday detention together. The popular girl Claire Standish, the athlete Andrew Clark, the nerd Brian Johnson, the outcast Allison Reynolds, and the rebellious delinquent John Bender must put aside their differences to survive their detention with their assistant principal, Mr. Vernon. While in detention, they are told to write about “who they really are” in one thousand words. Throughout the day, they reveal their struggles involving their cliques and their home lives. As the movie progresses, the audience finds out the reason each teen is in detention which brings up a discussion about who they really are.

For my research topic, I decided to research why teachers should be paid more and what factors go into how much they get paid in the United States. Have you ever asked yourself how much teachers get paid, are they underpaid more than other professions ? The answer is they are not paid enough for the work they do molding the young minds of this generation in my opinion. For the importance of their job the United States does not fund public education from tax dollars enough causing teachers to not show interest or leave their jobs. What factors go into their pay, does having a higher teaching degree help them get paid more or why do private schools get higher pay, these are just some of the questions that I will be answering today in this essay.

Being an outstanding teacher goes beyond acquiring the competence and knowledge to deliver rigorous academic instruction to a diverse group of students. Outstanding teachers possess a multitude of qualities making them unique and unforgettable to the children they serve. I believe that outstanding teachers are passionate, inspired, creative, compassionate, patient and understanding.
