Robert Frost story begins on March 26, 1874 in San Francisco, California. Robert and his family moved to Massachusetts when Frost was eleven after the death of his father. (poets.org). Robert went to high school in Lawrence, Massachusetts when he became interested in writing. After graduating high school he enrolled at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and later at Harvard University in Boston. He never earned a formal college degree, but went on to be a great writer and educator (poets.org). Some of his greatest works include Fire and Ice, Boys Will, and My Butterfly (poets.org). He worked throughout his whole life as he published two full length poem collections (bio.com). Frost died on January 29, 1963 at the age of 88 in Boston,Massachusetts. (bio.com). The setting and situation in this poem is how the world will end. (poets.org). The audience for Fire and Ice is whoever is reading it.(bio.com). The tone of this poem is serious because this poem is like a debate of how the world will end. The Form/structure of this poem is rhyme because some of the lines in the poem rhyme. The purpose of this poem is how will the world end. (poets.org). In a brief paraphrase or summary the speaker is wondering when will the world end and how will the world end. In Imagery Frost creates a duality with both fire and ice that draws attention to nature. This poem has some rhyme scheme because in each stanza the scheme is a ABAABCBCB in each stanza. There is also Symbolism because both fire and ice both have a symbol. Fire is a symbol of desire and ice is a symbol for hate in this poem. The theme of this poem is that this poem has fear, and hate as frost talks about the world ending in his poem. (bio.com). And my personal reaction to this poem is that in Imagery of Fire and Ice it is quite clear that Frost likes to write about nature and about God in his
