The main character Noah is born in a lower classed family in Florida. Noah’s father, Paine, is a person who never gave up and believed that all people should respect the nature. But, Paine always has a hard time controlling his temper, so he’ve gone to the jail a lot for doing “good” deeds for the nature. The first time he was thrown into the harsh jail was when saw some a couple abusing chocolate-colored dogs when they were camping. Paine was tired of seeing people mistreating animals, so “he ‘dognapped’ them to save their lives”. Paine should have reported to the police in this type of situation, but he lost the control of his temper and did what he thought was benevolent on his own and the law-breakers got him in trouble instead, which kind of ruined his reputation. In jail, according to Noah’s mother, Paine had “compared himself to Nelson Mandela for staying in the jail for justice”. But after Paine came out of the jail, he continued to do things to help the nature on his own. For example, he never gave up until he successfully did something; helping the beach to stay clean. In their area, there lived a rich casino boat owner named Dusty Muleman. When Paine found out that Dusty was secretly dumping human waste from his casino boat’s toilets into the ocean, he decided that he was going to sink the boat but he was caught and sent to the jail. It seemed like that Paine is hopeless of helping the nature but he didn’t give-up. He told his son Noah and daughter Abbey to find a way to stop Dusty from doing bad deeds. At last Noah put purple dye into the toilet of the casino boat and the food dye was shown in the ocean a few days later. Dusty was caught and had to pay a fine. The author is suggesting that if people don’t give up, they will accomplish their mission or task when they work hard
