Food Inc is a documentary that basically shows the audience how the food is produced. Robert Kenner's, the director of the film, assertion of this film is that food companies are in control of what goes in our food and how it is processed. In the film, Large corporations are taking over the food industry, causing mass production and causing citizens to get sick. In the first section of this film, it shows how the meat is produced for human consumption, mainly focusing on cows, chickens, and pigs. The producers visit two chicken farms, where the audience is shown the differences in raising chicken. As the film shows, the way these chickens are being housed and the cruelty to both the animals and the farmers. The chicken food industries started to hire more undocumented Mexican workers because they kept quiet to keep from being deported. …show more content…

The food most cows are fed is contaminated and is contributing to the outbreaks of disease and sickness within the citizens. The film talks about a mother who had a two-year-old son named Kevin, who died from eating a hamburger contained with E. coli. This was a great shock to the community and all over the world. Since then, Kevin's mother has become an activist for safer conditions and to ensure that this never happens again, even though it continues to happen. Kevin's Law was introduced also known as the Food Safety Modernization Act. It allows the Food and Drug Administration to inspect facilities, test foods, and recall contaminated products so this incident due to lack of healthy care in the food industry will not happen
