Food Inc. also used persuasion to demonstrates some components of pathos, logos, and ethos while uncovering the mysterious side of the food industry in America. Robert Kenner, the director of Food, Inc., made this film for a purpose. Uncovering the hidden facts and secrets behind the food industry in America.
Obesity rates have risen, our food has been modified, and production in America has drastically changed. This book has open the eyes of many Americans, so that they may take a stand and fight for what’s right. The people deserve to know what they are buying and what they are eating. And that's exactly what they don't want you to know.
In the 2008 documentary Food Inc. Authors Eric Schlosser and Michael Pollan offer insight into the food industry in America, including how food is produced. Revealing to the normal everyday american all the things you don't know about how you get the food that in your figure right now. They reveal that the main thing that drives our current food system, like any big corporation, is cost efficiency. These cost cuts do make food cheaper for americans but it also puts their safety at risk.
Food corporations look to those who have recognizable credentials. By explaining that she lacked sufficient background knowledge and is a well-informed as a common person, Miller proves that she has nothing of value that they can learn. In her article, she mentions that she “cautiously raise a subject that has concerned me of late: less than five miles away, some children don’t have enough to eat” (2). Her experience with families lacking healthy food has only recently become an issue of worry for her, and thereby is not qualified to present new solutions to the problem. Through failing to build up a credible relationship with her target audience, Miller’s argument becomes a waste and is an inefficiency.

Food Inc is a documentary that basically shows the audience how the food is produced. Robert Kenner's, the director of the film, assertion of this film is that food companies are in control of what goes in our food and how it is processed. In the film, Large corporations are taking over the food industry, causing mass production and causing citizens to get sick. In the first section of this film, it shows how the meat is produced for human consumption, mainly focusing on cows, chickens, and pigs. The producers visit two chicken farms, where the audience is shown the differences in raising chicken.

This including farmers or workers in factory conditions physically and financially. How animals are slaughtered and what is added to them before the products are sold in the stores. Mortals consume food everyday but no one really knows what happens behind the production of meat or more revolting, what is inside the food itself. These two sources enlighten consumers’ minds towards the dark side of food production. In some ways, humans, animals, and the environment are affected negatively by the evolution of the food industry. Chemicals are start being used in productions and money seems to be running the law instead of human sense.
The farmers are treated poorly by the big name companies. The health in the United States is declining severely, 16% of children are obese,have diabetes, and other major health problems. In David Barboza’s article, “If You Pitch It, They Will Eat It,” Barboza argues that big name food companies are targeting the youth of society, because they will watch a show on television and see the food products at the store with their favorite character on the packaging. But the food that is being marketed to the youth is unhealthy for the human body.
Dry ice is a frozen carbon dioxide,a normal part of our earth’s atmosphere. Dry ice is a solid but turns into a gas which the term for this would be called sublimation. Sublimation occurs when the surface particles of a solid gains enough energy that they form a gas. Using dry ice is a way to keep the temperature low when a refrigerator is not available. People also use dry ice for projects and experiments.
For many people the ideal meal is inexpensive, fast, and tastes good. When purchasing these quick and inexpensive meals we put very little thought into how that food was actually produced. I have realized while growing up that there are a lot of people who go un-helped, Labeled, and unnoticed. People who are homeless, low class income, or just missed might actually need help and aren’t getting it. I want to be the person who helps.
