All people who are currently living in America probably have heard about the never ending battle happening within the truck making world. Ford and Chevy, two of the three most well-known brands of trucks within America have been battling model to model for many years. Many people who choose one or the other, once chosen a person will never stop liking that brand. Although Ford and Chevy trucks are distinctively diverse, but within each are hidden similarities. Ford has one of the strongest trucks out of all the three key brands within America. The Ford F-450 Super Duty has 440 horsepower and can pull up to 32,500 pounds However, chevy has the second strongest truck in America, the Chevy Silverado 3500 HD. The Chevy Silverado 3500 HD has 415 horsepower and can only pull up to 23,300 pounds. In comparison, Ford and Chevy both have a diesel engine under the hood. (Sapienza). The next factor of performance is the best engines of both brands. The strongest Ford engine ever made was the 300 inline 6 cylinder in 1965. The 300 was the most reliable motors that Ford has ever made (Foote). The strongest Chevy motor was the 454 big block V8 in 1970. The 454 was used in trucks till 1996 was well known for its speed (Fuller). In comparison, the 454 and the 300 are strong, long lasting, reliable, and carbonated engines. The final factor within performance is the off road ability of the best ford truck and chevy truck. The best new off road trucks at the moment is the Chevy Colorado ZR2. The Colorado was made for off road ability and is the only medium sized truck with an optional diesel engine. Some features of the Colorado are larger suspension, traction control, and wider tires. Ford however developed a well known off road vehicle in 2010, which was the Ford Raptor, and is known for amazing desert road driving.
