Dave Schultz, 1984, wrestling Olympic gold, two years later, dead, right outside his car. FoxCatcher, is a non-fiction novel, which takes place in the 1980s. The book, is written by Mark Schultz, and David Thomas. The author, and the brother of who the book is about, teamed up to produce a novel, and a later film of the chaos that lead up to Dave’s death.

It all starts, after Dave, and Mark, finish college, and began to suffer financially. They later result in side hustles, and coaches jobs. They eventually receive a phone call, from John du Pont, as he offers them a coaching job at his wrestling facility and housings, as we as living fees, all of which are covered and take place in FoxCatcher Farms, Pennsylvania. They brothers take the jobs, and take there “later” families to live fulltime on this absurdly large property. All of this, is after they meet Dupont. In which John, would mumble racists slurs, and scream that his wealth and his ties would blow all of this over. That, was wrong. Du Pont was eventually captured, and Du Pont, age 72, dies in prison. The heir of a multi-billion dollar chemical company, and “owner” of one of the best wrestling centers in history of the U.S., killed his “friend”, his best wrestler, and a father of a family. This lunatic, was thought to of done it for multiple reasons. Jealousy, of the fame Schultz got from his sport. The death of his mother, or the fact that he, never understood what working something meant. These can all be summed up to three things, Du Ponts is physocatic man, who doesnt realize truly how much he has, which is lined with so much irony, he is the heir to about a 14 billion dollar company. But,all of which does not change the fact, he killed one of wrestling's most loved, and biggest icons, my hero, Dave
