There are multiple themes in the book Frankenstein by Gris Grimly, but I think one of the most important themes would have to be revenge. I will be explaining many of the ways they got revenge on the monster or the monster Victor. The other paragraph will be about what they have learned from each other's revenge. I like the idea of revenge and the way they do revenge on each other. That is why I chose revenge for my thesis.
Picture this. You're taking a nice leisurely stroll alone. A towering monster appears five feet in front of you, triple your size. Tail and everything. Lacking a considerable amount of skin and staring right into the base of your soul.
This is shown when Victor's monster escapes from the lab and the individuals the monster faces are negatively affected. Any time Frankenstein’s monster came in contact with another individual, people would either be too scared and run away from him or attempt to kill him. For instance, after the monster was brought to life, he describes how disoriented he was; how we had to understand the basic of being human and grasp standard knowledge of how to read and write; this way, he could be socially acceptable. Moreover, in seeking guidance, the monster first visited a random man who later ran away in terror, and after that, he wandered into a village, which also proved that individuals will not accept the monster, primarily because he is far too grotesque; and so he was ostracized by the people. Enraged by the fact, Victor’s creation begins to have little regard for the people around him, especially those who reject him.

What can be even more frightening than the image of a monster is the personality of one: wicked, selfish, and cruel. In Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, a debate is created between who the real monster might be, between Victor and his creation, the monster. Throughout the novel there are many factors that could make Victor’s creation a monster, like his weird face, or his height.

Frankenstein has become an iconic pop culture reference, but when you dig deep, underneath the Halloween costumes and scary movies you can find many themes.
“Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay.” This quote comes from Paradise Lost by John Milton and also appears in the book of Frankenstein. The Creature in Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, compares himself to Adam. He is striving to be good but is rejected by his creator, referring to this quote. One could argue that it means that the creature did not ask to be made but tried his best, however the creator still shunned him because of his appearance.

How child psychology further affects a child's mental state and later in life problems. Lonely, desolated, and dejected. A child feels these ways when he or she is abused or neglected and will have these emotions with them for the rest of his or her life compared to Frankenstein, a science fiction novel by Mary Shelley depicts child psychology and the effects that go along with it. Frankenstein is a story about a monster who is created by a scientist, but the scientist does not care or want the creature in his life. Child psychology is the emotional effects a child has from being abused or neglected.
Imagine that you live in an alternate world where you get to pick and choose how you want a creature to be put together. Now imagine that, that desire becomes a reality and you see a creature being put together, stitched up from the corner of every body part, barely even human, some would say. Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein challenges us as people to really question, what is it that makes one human? Is it the representation of our skin, hair, and ears that can make someone human or is it the emotional connection we have within ourselves and how we can comprehend this life?
The story of Victor Frankenstein and his creation is one of anger, sympathy, and life itself. When Frankenstein brought his creation to life, he immediately disowned the creature and ran from it. He sent the creature out to fight for itself in the wilderness. Because of Frankenstein’s vile response to his creation, he is at fault when it comes to the murder of his son. Victor did not treat his creation as human, or anything close to that.
What is something that can appear entertaining but in reality is dangerous? In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the character Victor Frankenstein is consumed by the thought of being able to prevent death. To do so, he begins to research and experiment how to bring a being to life. Frankenstein had successfully brought a being to life, however he saw this creation as flawed and the creature so became it. The creation had begun to murder humans in contempt for Frankenstein.
