The Pearl Harbor bombing took place on December 7, 1941. This horrible tragedy was committed by the Japanese. In 1942, the United States government ordered many Japanese Americans/ Aliens to leave their homes hastily and was detained in remote, military-style camps. They were frightened and unaided due to their indefinite incarceration by the Americans shortly after Pearl Harbor was bombed.
The Pearl Harbor attack had merely provoked it. It was an unannounced, brutal attack upon the United States naval base in Oahu, Hawaii that occurred on December 7,1941, lasted for over an hour. A day that will forever live in the hearts and minds of many Americans. Brother, Sisters, moms, dads, aunts uncles, grandparents were all lost on this horrifying day. 2,400 lives and 1,178 naval personnel were wounded, many of these were aboard the USS Arizona.
It was december 7th 1941, a day that japan ensured the world would never forget. Despite high risk japan decided to take the gamble and enact their terror on an american naval base by the name of pearl harbor. Hundred of japanese fighter planes descended onto the naval base taking a total of 2400 lives and wounding over 1000 people. There are three main that I believe lead japan to their decision those things being , oil embargo, us militarization, and the new world order and expansion. To begin with japan was upset about oil embargo.

On that morning of December 7, 1941, Japanese fight planes attacked the American naval based at Pearl Harbor which is near Honolulu, Hawaii. During that surprise attack, the Japanese destroyed about 20 American vessels and that is including 8 battleships and about 200 aircrafts. The Pearl Harbor attack had over 2,000 service men die. The first aircraft wave, flying to Pearl Harbor from the opposite side of the island, was mistaken for American planes that were supposed to fly in to Oahu on that same day.

This is one of the many atrocities that Japan committed that helped push the United States towards entering the war. Another attack by Japan was the Nanjing Massacre. Japan invaded China and went around Nanjing and mercilessly civilians for six entire weeks.
The Pearl Harbor attack was maybe the biggest influence on the United States entering World War 2. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a big surprise on them. This attack was so much of a surprise because it was early and from lots of angles. This attack came a profound shock to the American people and led directly into entry of World War 2. The attack was on a sunday, which was when the ships on the United States side would be docked. Japan had dozens of airplanes that attacked by surprise. Once President Roosevelt heard about what happened, he wrote a speech. Then he send it to Congress, and that’s when we declared war to Japan. Because of Japan’s attack, the United States had to get involved with the war and defend themselves.

On January 16, 1942, Representative Leland Ford of California was one of the first officials in Congress that argued for the internment of all Japanese civilians in an effort to prevent espionage.
