How would you feel if you had a President that could get the nation out of almost anything? Franklin Roosevelt is a notable American because he’s the only President to be elected four times, get the U.S. through the Great Depression, and World War 2. As a person in office, a strong mindset and good decision making is a necessity. Roosevelt has achieved a lot through his career, but let's rewind to the beginning, before the fame. Roosevelt is from Hyde Park, NY, born on January 30, 1882. Franklin Roosevelt, also known as FDR was an american statesman and also a political leader. At 28 years old in 1910, he was invited to run for senate for New York State. He was a President from 1933 - 1945. One obstacle he faced was that he was a Democrat that ran against a district that voted Republican for the past 32 years. Second, when he took office, the economy was miserable, businesses didn’t want to hire or invest. People were unsure, and wanted the government to speak on it. Thirdly, he was diagnosed from contracting polio while on vacation at Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada. He was permanently paralyzed, and was resigned for the time being. He was under the impression that his political career was coming to a sudden hault. Also, Roosevelt gained a tremendous amount of heat for increased government spending and unbalanced budgets.
