During the years that led up to World War 1, many factors took place that potentially caused the war to occur, especially in the continent of Europe. In the Balkan peninsula, a belief called nationalism caused lots of chaos and tension between the nations (OI). Prideful Balkan countries would battle amongst themselves to prove their dominance as a culture. On top of this, countries formed alliances, creating an intricate alliance system that stretched throughout most of 20th century Europe
For any country that wants to survive in the toughest of times, they need to have good trading capabilities. Very few countries are able to sustain themselves without indulging in intensive trade with other countries. Trading has been considered a good thing in the past, but with the changing world, there are doubts about the benefits of trading. There are some factors that lead to the development of trade networks between countries. When people started to settle in larger towns, the idea that you had to produce absolutely everything for survival, began to fade.
WWI Neutrality DBQ When WWI began in 1914, the President Woodrow Wilson declared a neutrality policy which most Americans favored, seeing the war as a problem among European nations. In a message to Congress, Wilson asked Americans to “act and speak in the true spirit of neutrality” (A). Wilson’s purpose was not only to prevent conflicts among diverse ethnic groups who supported opposing side, but also to avoid an inherently exhausting war. Despite the US’s non-interventionist stance, the US was never truly neutral—especially when submarine warfare, economic interests, Zimmermann Telegram, and patriotism pushed US foreign policy to largely favor the Allies.

Source three is a World War I Australian propaganda poster created by the Australian State Parliamentary Recruiting Committee in 1917, focussing on the recruitment of soldiers, specifically sportsmen to volunteer to join the war as a method to replenish the front lines of the war in Europe. An associated message of the source questioned the validity and legitimacy of healthy, Australian men participating in sports while the other soldiers fought at the front in Europe. This situation strongly contradicted cultural loyalty, where Australians from the past and in the present have a traditional value of fitness and athletics, and have a competitive history in sports, with regional loyalty and political nationalism in terms of accommodating the

The Great War was not so great of a war even though it was given this ironic name. This war is better known as, World War I. Two main points that encouraged the United States to join the Great War was the sinking of the Lusitania and the exposing of the Zimmermann Telegram. President Woodrow Wilson declared war on Germany after the Zimmermann Telegram was deciphered. After analyzing plenty of documents from during that era, it could be suggested that the messages that President Woodrow Wilson encouraged the Americans to push for neutrality, while Franklin D. Roosevelt believed in the fight.
“The second World War took place not so much because no one won the first, but because the Versailles Treaty did not acknowledge this truth”, (Paul Johnson). On July 28th, 1914 a life changing event occurred, World War 1(WW1). There have been many reasonable explanations for the cause of WW1. That really doesn’t matters except for the fact that many countries were fighting each other over the span of 4 years. There were two sides to the war.
In 1920, the United States was celebrating the “Roaring Twenties”. It was a time of great prosperity, but not for all of Europe. We were celebrating relief from World War I and the money we received from it. We were getting back to normalcy. We were almost solely an isolated country, but our foreign policy was going to change within the next ten years.
Trade almost always benefits the countries who participate in it. There have been many trends towards freedom of trade in the United States ever since the very beginning of the nation. Trade boosts the economy by keeping it competitive and lowering prices, which increases the consumers purchasing power. Without trading between nations, the United States wouldn’t be what it is today, trade at the center of the United States is what shaped this country as well as foreign relations. On April 6, 1917 The United States join the Allies of Europe and entered World War 1, or The Great War as it was known at the time. The question that is being asked is should the U.S. enter The Great War? The United States should enter The Great War because, without the United States was able to change the outcome of the war in their favor, Americans were dying due to German U-boat attacks and the United States needed to make sure the money it spent was returned. The United States did have good reasons to not enter the war such as the loss of American soldiers fighting in a war across seas. The United States was able to change the outcome of the war.
The United States participation in the Great War changed America in many ways. The first major change was the sense of being American. For the first time people had an overwhelming since of patriotism as well as nationalism. This is very important as we move forward in time. In many ways the United States was more united than ever, but their was also some problems that arose.
Hospitality has always been important, particularly in the medical and health department. During the 1940's, World War two was happening, there were numerous wounded people as well as people who lost their lives, therefore medical and healthcare played a big role in this time period. Hospitality in the 1940's compared to other times, improved in terms of technology, healthcare services, nurses and doctors. As time progressed, technology improved.
