The pursuit of religious freedom is not a contemporary idea. For centuries many have valiantly fought against oppression and persecution in order to worship freely without restraint and judgement. Some of the earliest immigrants who migrated to this country did so with the hopes of being able to worship in a manner than aligned most closely with their religious beliefs. Many of the principles that founded this nation are based on the premise of religious freedom and toleration. Undoubtedly one of the most influential and prominent religious factions to land on these shores in pursuit of this right, were the Puritans.
Liberty has the definition of the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views. This means the right to be free in a country. America had trouble with finding how liberty can be a part of the country. The fight for liberty was difficult to obtain because America had the break from Great Britain, needed to build a country from scratch, and come together as a country. America was not always a free country.

Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. The foundation of America is freedom. Freedom from Britain. However, the freedom is limited to white males who own property. When colonists started to immigrate to America, they wanted to escape from under the rule of Britain.
This amendment safeguards American’s rights to freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. By protecting our freedom of religion, the government cannot force a religion on the people and allows us to choose and practice any religion that we want to, how we want to. Since I grew up in a practicing Christian household, I can truly appreciate and place great worth in this amendment for defending my right to believe in what I want to believe in. Through protecting our freedom of speech, it allows us to speak out and voice our opinions on the government and express our feelings about political figures, laws, regulations, etc. By also protecting our right to assemble and petition, Americans can request for changes and adjustments
Freedom of religion is the choice whether a person decides to practice a religion or not. When people are allowed to have freedom of religion, it makes living in the US better due to the fact that not many other countries have this type of practice. Freedom
The meaning of liberty is the freedom to act as one chooses as long as your actions do not interfere with the freedom or well being of theirs. Liberty is very special value that settlers from other nations desired since they had never experienced anything of its kind. The ability to be self reliant or to be one’s own master is individualism.
The high death rate during World War I was caused by the implementation of technology and weaponry. This is because many countries that participated in war tried to use the technology they had available to try and create defense mechanisms/weapons. Other reasons such as disease also affected the death toll overall. A number of weapons of different types used were deadly and caused the death of many troops. Most countries came up with technology more powerful than the next in order to defeat.

Liberty represents freedom; freedom of choice, freedom to feel, think and live how we want. . This is still something we use and hear about everyday, whether we are aware of it or not. This matters to all Americans greatly.
In today 's society, religious freedom is the freedom of the individual or community to practice any religion they believe in. It was often misunderstood that American colonist were in search of religious liberty, but in reality groups such as the Puritans and Pilgrims who left Europe to escape religious persecution sought the liberty to practice their own faith and often were intolerant of religious diversity. During this time, religion and the government went hand and hand. These leaders of the church were also leaders in the government and would enforce strict religious observance. In the beginning of Colonial America, religion and the government were inseparable and often leaders like John Winthrop would persecute dissenters who didn 't
The First amendment of the United States and the freedom of worship in the Texas bill of rights are similar to each other in terms of religious beliefs. They both have the idea that there is not one correct religion and people can worship any religion with the government protecting them. A few difference between them is that the US first amendment has more ideas that protect “the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government” (bill of rights). While the Texas freedom of worship goes into more detail about religious freedom and how they can implement laws that will protect religious groups to insure peaceful enjoyment. In article 6 of the United states constitution it states
What does it mean to be free? In our society today, freedom gives citizens the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hinderance or restraint. Our American heritage diverges from cultural values, norms, belief systems, and the development of social forces. Free will is the driving force of our nation which allows diversity among social statuses, social classes, and ethic groups. Our responsibility for preserving it, rebuttals the fact that each and every one of us should be open, accepting, and understanding to ones values of credence or race.
There are many views and opinions of the state of the United States on this subject. It has long been a puzzling issue that never seems to seize. America should have religious freedom, because it is a constitutional right to Americans. Prayer in school, gay marriage, and governmental control, are among some of the main issues in this topic.
For my Erik Erikson interview, I interviewed James Strobl. James is my grandfather, he is 79 years old and is retired in Lawrence, Ks and Yuma, Az. My grandfather is originally from Red Cloud, Nebraska and went to college at University of Nebraska-Omaha. James was a Sergeant in the US army from 1960-1962. He loves watching old John Wayne cowboy movies, eating chocolate chip cookies, and spending time with his family.
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think without restraint, and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. Freedom is the correction to do what he/she wants, live life, and eat what he/she wants. How do we live free? We live free by not judging other people’s freedom rights. Everyone has their own rights.
