Good Morning, members of the discovery channel, today I am here to talk about a topic I am very passionate about, and that is the Eureka Stockade. I am also here to encourage you to fund this sure to be brilliant documentary! By funding this documentary, you would help Australia gain more knowledge about why the Eureka Rebellion is a defining and shaping event in Australia’s history and why it’s still important and relevant to today’s society. Do we really want to lose such an important part of australian history? The Eureka Rebellion was a revolution, small in size but vastly larger, politically.

Australia Day is one of the most unique national day’s in the world throughout history, celebrating the day of when our ancestors first arrived on the borders of Australia, in 1788. Rather than unite people as one whole though, the spirited outcome of this event isn’t what as anticipated by everyone and has divided the Australian society for good. And so it should be held at an alternative date, where Australian citizens feel worthy of their identity and not cheated by it. However, the celebration shouldn’t be adapted to like that of other commemorations like ANZAC day. Essentially, this day will always be a tragic memory for the indigenous and be viewed as the invasion of their homeland.
Change. It’s what many people fear. What would you do if something so familiar in your life was gone; changed forever? Changing the Australian flag would be taking away a piece of our country 's heritage. The Confederate flag was first flown to show the secession of South Carolina from the union. South Carolina seceded from the union on the grounds that tariffs were being passed to the northern states. Even though in the south the flag meant slavery, the Confederate flag does not represent slavery, it represents a setting in time when slavery was acceptable. The confederate flag and the monuments have caused many debates and riots over the past couple of decades between the Confederates, people who believe in the flag and its monuments and the Federalist, people who oppose the flag and the monuments. I do believe that the Confederate flag should be removed because the flag is a part of history when one state refused to cooperate with the union and choose to secede.
Not only does the flag represent this country and its freedom, but it also is a symbol of the military and their brave actions to protect this country. Not many can say that they gave their life to benefit the well-being of America. The ones who can, even though they are dead, are very proud to be able to say that. Even though it cost them their lives, they know their country appreciates what they did and that the citizens will live better because of it. People dishonor all of that the moment they intentionally set flame to the flag, to what these brave soldiers fought for.

From Henry’s perspective the flag symbolizes hard work, respect, and the dedication he’s put into his country. Personally, I think that Henry is too sensitive. In my opinion, we are nothing alike. Henry wanted to enlist in the war, i don’t see any reason for participating in a war that has nothing to do with me.
