There are many characters that contributed to the death of Romeo and Juliet in Shakespeare's play/story “Romeo and Juliet.” Friar Lawrence is one of the three suspects. He played a very big role in this tragedy. The two other suspects are Benvolio and Romeo himself. Friar Lawrence, Benvolio, and Romeo contributed to this tragic death the most. Friar Lawrence is one of the most highly suspected suspects in the story. First, he agreed to officiate Romeo and Juliet's marriage, thinking it would end the Capulet and Montague feud. In Act 2, Friar Lawrence agrees to officiate their wedding because he believes it will end the Montague and Capulet feud.
