The definition of a star crossed lover is a relationship that is destined to be doomed based on the stars. In the 1500s people used the stars as a way of explaining things. Romeo and Juliet were referred to as star crossed lovers, but there is more to blame than the stars for their death. In “Romeo and Juliet”, by William Shakespeare, two strangers, Romeo and Juliet, meet and fall in love. Their families are in an intense feud. When the two lovers find out that they can’t be together they end up killing themselves. The nurse and Friar Laurence are ultimately responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Some people may say that Romeo and Juliet are responsible for their own deaths. There are many reasons why someone may say this. First, people may believe that Romeo and Juliet rushed their relationship because you can’t truly fall in love in a few days. The Nurse was the first person to tell Juliet who Romeo was. This caused greater interest Romeo by Juliet.
