Friar Lawrence Is To Blame For The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet

The Tragedy Explained: Some people make full proof plans just for someone or something to make the plan a living nightmare. This is what happened to Romeo and Juliet during the famous tragedy by Shakespeare. The plan, that Friar Laurence explained, had zero holes, but some characters not following through caused mayhem. These characters at fault for the death and tragedy of Romeo and Juliet consist of Friar Laurence, Lady Capulet, and the Capulet. One of the main culprits of the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is Friar Laurence. One key example is when he lazily says, “I’ll send a friar with speed to Mantua with my letters to thy Lord,” (4.3 124-125). This is lazy because he could've delivered the message to Romeo himself. Furthermore, the message could have been sent to more than one person to inform others, so if something went wrong to one person there would be multiple people.

Friar Laurence should have married them in public so everyone knew they were married. If everyone knew they were married, they wouldn’t of tried to get Paris to marry Juliet. These are the reasons Friar Laurence is at blame. Two other particular people to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet are the Capulets. A clear showing of this is when Lady Capulet demandingly says, “Fine thou the means, and I’ll find such a man,” (3.5 104). This shows the time when Juliet is getting forced. Adding to that, Lady Capulet could have asked for her option. The time when Capulet was to blame was when he aggressively stated, “And why, my lady, wisdom? Hold your tongue, good prudence. Smatter with your gossip,” (3.5 171-172). This shows the control of Juliet causing her to rebel. Besides, if Capulet was not so harsh on Juliet, she wouldn’t have rebelled against
