In the tragedy Romeo and Juliet, I think that every character in the play is liable to be blamed for the death of Romeo and Juliet. However, I think Friar Lawrence is most to blame for the deaths of both lovers. He is the only character that has been involved or had an effect on every aspect of the story. He agreed to marry Juliet and Romeo against her family's wishes then when it came time for her to marry Paris, Friar Lawrence gave Juliet a poison that would make her look dead. Also, he was supposed to tell Romeo the plan, but he gave the letter to an untrustworthy source, which got intercepted. Finally, when Juliet woke up, he fled her grave. In Act 2 scene 6, Friar Lawrence says, “Come, come with me, and we will make short work/ For,
