George and Lennie In the novela of mice and men the main characters, George and Lennie, have a very strong friendship. George constantly made sure Lennie was safe and in control. George was a very good friend to lennie because he stayed with him no matter what, made sure lennie made good choices, and also defended him whenever someone messed with him. George stays with lennie even after the things lennie did to get them in trouble this is showing me that they had a strong friendship and they were closer than any others on the ranch.
George loved Lennie for who he was. They were able to act as themselves around each other and not feel bad about who or how they were. As described in this essay, a friend is someone who exemplifies trust, care, and being nonjudgmental. Neither George nor Lennie exemplify anything but the qualities of a friendship in the story.(Core
To begin with, in George and Lennie’s companionship, George provided guidance for Lennie since he’s mentally like a child. The reason why Lennie acts like a child is because of his mental conditions.
According to my observations, the vast majority of life's contacts function only to make us feel alienated and unwanted. Traveling with someone helps us feel less alone than traveling alone. George and Lennie, the characters of John Steinbeck's classic Of Mice and Men, are two outcasts. They may appear to be different on the exterior, yet they are incredibly similar on the inside. Simply said, here is where true friendships are formed.
According to Lucius Seneca, an ancient Roman philosopher, “the most beautiful quality of friendship is to understand, and to be understood.” As human beings we are constantly searching for comfort and acceptance in each other, which our friends provide. John Steinbeck illustrates this well in Of Mice and Men through the friendship of Lennie and George. While their friendship brought them both companionship and comfort, it wasn't perfect and also led to many complications.
Of Mice and Men was published in 1937 during a time of bi-racism between the caucasians and the african americans, and the apathetic Great Depression, which may have served as inspiration. In the novel two opposites attract, a gargantuan but mentally challenged man by the name of Lennie, and a small, nimble, and intelligent man named George. Suffering from a mental illness Lennie gets into trouble when he 's alone, but George always saves him, George knows Lennie doesn 't do anything, “out of meanness” as he says. Undoubtedly the reader assimilates that Lennie kills a young lady, said to have done so accidentally. Furthermore without any control George was forced to kill Lennie.
Real friends are the people you can count on, no matter what. In the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, in the 1930s Great Depression the two workers George and Lennie have been together their whole lives, always having each other's back. This sets them apart from everyone else because of the friendship they share. George and Lennie have been traveling around in search of work for a better life when they arrive at the ranch. During this time friendship is lacking and dry but George and Lennie are able to show friendship and bring it out of people.
In ‘Of Mice and Men’, written by John Steinbeck, friendship is portrayed as one of the main themes in this novella and a very important part of people’s lives. Steinbeck also portrays friendship by highlighting the importance of friendship and showing how its presence and absence can trigger many positive and negative emotions. Its presence creates hope, feeling of companionship and a sense of responsibility. In spite of friendship’s presence creating positive feelings, its absence does the complete opposite. It generates a feeling of loneliness and isolation.
In the book Of Mice and Men the most accurate theme that i want to discuss is the Friendship. We can find so much kind of Friendship themes but George and Lennie’s friendship is really special, all we know that Lennie was a man with mental problems, his mind is like a child mind because the ways he speak are really like little child. The Friendship between the two protagonist is really particular, because at the beginning of the story George is a mentor for Lennie, because he explain him the good and the bad things that Lennie do,especially when they escaped from the cowboys and the dogs George was like a brother for him,but in the book they are “cousins”. When the two mans arrived to the ranch, they start to have more relationships, like a friendship
I genuinely enjoyed John Steinbeck’s novel, Of Mice and Men; the book was very interesting in many parts and many ways and because of this I will never forget some of the events throughout the story. One of the most interesting things in this story was the friendship between George and Lennie, this friendship was out of the ordinary because in a way George was more of a guardian to Lennie throughout their relationship than a friend. I did not like the fact that Curly was always out to get Lennie. The style of writing and the interesting story made for an easy read that kept my attention. I would recommend this book to other students.
What makes a true friend? A true friend is someone who sticks with one through the hardest times, is trustworthy, sees past one’s flaws, and sees one’s values. Friendship is so important that there are multiple people seeking it including Crooks who wants friends and Candy whose best friend, his dog, is killed, but George and Lennie are the role model of friendship throughout the book. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck presents the relationship of George and Lennie as the quintessential friendship and shows the reader that supportive, true friendships are necessary to every person’s happiness.
Of mice and Men John Steinbeck explaining how important a friendship is and how much two people can support each. Without their bond it would have created a difficult and almost impossible journey for George and Lennie. In this book Lennie and George have the greatest friendship, George claims to not need Lennie, but reading the book he knows that Lennie need Geroge as much as George needs Lennie. The friendship between George and Lennie is true. Lennie, a mentally challenged, big man with stand out features and George, the small little tough guy, with the brains and great leadership skills.
Friendship, by definition, is a bond of mutual affection or a form of love. Depending on the individuals, friendships can vary distinctively. While some are built solely on mutual hatred, others come together in fear of solidarity. In the novel “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, Lennie Small who is childlike and robust has an odd relationship with whom he calls his best friend, George Milton, who is smart and feebly. These two fictional characters’ travel together and share the same fantasy of owning their own piece of land alongside a farm.
The story Of Mice and Men can be called a story of true friendship because it talks about two guys that been together most of their lives and how they took care of each other. The qualities I look for in a friend is First, Loyalty because I wouldn't want him or her to backstab me or Tell on me for something I did or spread rumors of personal stuff about me. I want them to be loyal because if i ever got into some trouble i want to know they will be there for me no matter what. Second, I would want them look out for me make sure i'm doing good and keeping me out of trouble. Third, The last quality I would want a friend to have is them to have a sense of humor.
