College is an important aspect of my life. My long term goal of being a family and mental health counselor is very important to me and I am very passionate about my future career. I would need a lot to pursue this career. Such as college degree and knowledge, important skills and motivation and experience. My career goal is to be a family and mental health counselor. I believe that i would enjoy being this type of counselor because I have been around people and even experienced people who needed mental help and family guidance such as myself. I would need to major in psychology or sociology and take internships dealing with counseling or psychology. I would need my bachelors’ degree, but most importantly my masters degree in counseling or psychology. Therefore, I know I would need to do many more years of school after high school to pursue my career. Being a counselor requires a lot of knowledge to help the sick and people with personal problems. Understanding why they feel the way they do and act the way they do is key to helping and supporting them. For this career, i would need to have great communication and listening skills in order to help anyone with any problems that they have. Also, in order for me to help someone, I would also need to learn how to keep myself stable and have a support system of my own. In all, my long term career goal is to become a family and mental health counselor. This career has always sparked my interest. I love helping people even when I was younger.
