As a senior at Leyden, I have already taken it upon myself to become involved in all my years at Leyden. I’ve volunteered and joined many school activities. I also have taken a step further by planning organizations. In these activities we've volunteered to serve the community. We have the ability to help out other individuals. My future plans are to become a role model for others and help others in need. It would be an honor to be accepted in the National Honors Society because I have learned to appreciate my own ability to make change through hard work.

Besides F.B.L.A, I’ve have been in Ripple Effect because I discovered that they collaborated with a community organization called Feed My Starving Children. Feed My Starving Children is an organization which helps feed children living in poverty. The opportunity to work with another organization that wants to end one of world's problems is something I love to be a part of. Not only have I joined Ripple Effect for an opportunity to volunteer, but I have also participated in a food drive through Spanish Club. Future Business Leaders of America has changed of how I picture this world. It has opened my eyes to see that there are many others in need such like Spencer Hawk. A baby was defeating cancer, but the family had trouble financially. My involvement in the fundraiser has inspired me to do something similar for someone else. I have been building my way to the top of success step by step. I had talked to my F.B.L.A sponsor about fundraising for a cause that I’ve been planning. Ever since I got involved with activities, I wanted to form an organization. That cause is helping out one of my Kindergartners get pass his Cancer struggles. I’m part of the taste of teaching program and I teach at Westdale. We have recently been imformed that one of the children is diagnosed with leukemia. I was devastated after the news, so I wanted to be able to help out Daniel. He is always in the mood to learn and experience life, but sadly he only has until September of 2016. We’ve noticed he is involved with his classmates, so we want them to be a part of this act of kindness. The other student teachers and I organized a fundraiser for him. In the fundraiser we plan to sell shirts with a hopeful saying for Daniel. The donations and money we receive would be towards Daniel’s family. We hope we make a change in the community to help one another out.
